From the western half of San Francisco, the most direct bike commute route east to the Caltrain station is 14th Street, then a parking lot, then a short length of Division Street at Bryant. Apparently the police have recently ticketed some bicyclists for making the forbidden left turn here.
I've biked here for years, and I had no idea that turn was prohibited, because there has always been some sort of panel truck parked there, obscuring it. The trucks are owned by people running an open-air "chop shop" of suspiciously-obtained bicycles. (I'm guessing that the ruined wheel above the sign is one of their discards.)
We've complained about this for years, and finally the chop shop was cleared out and moved along ... to one block down the street.
Note: If you click on the (map) link on the right, it'll tell you this is "Treat Avenue." It's all quite confusing: When you're riding east, 14th Street ends but an easement continues through a parking lot, which meets up briefly with the end of Treat, and continues as Division for half a block. At Bryant, there's another easement through another parking lot, but that's fenced off. Half a block north of this intersection, Division Street continues right where 13th Street ends!

After an antisemitic incident directed against the Chabad Librescu Jewish Student Center, a rally was held on the Virginia Tech campus on March 20, 2017.
At the close of the rally, people were invited to sign a banner in support of the Jewish community.

The L'Enfant Plaza Metro station has a few of these backlit signs. Old-fashioned, but I like them. Washington, DC.
Note the Yellow Line now runs to Fort Totten. Yay! However, if the lines weren't so twisted (especially the U-shaped Red Line), it would be better to identify them as north-bound, west-bound, etc.

I nearly fell to my knees and crawled towards this one when I saw it - one of the Holy Grails of neon signs. The motel was constructed in 1939, the current, larger sign added in 1960. The motel (and I would assume the neon sign) was restored in 1998.
THIS SHOT WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THAT GOD DAMN AUTO SIGN GETTING IN THE WAY WELL BESIDES THE POINT A SOO CABOOSE CP GEEPS AND A SOO SD60 SIT IN MUSKEGO YARD
Walter Plowman started selling fish around Pontypridd in 1870, hawking fish bought in Cardiff around the houses by horse and cart. Later he branched out into the Rhondda Valley as well. The firm "Plowman's Lunch" is still run by the Plowman family.
Clearly this sign is for those who have difficulty in reading the word "ghoti", so a pictogram has been used.
