Disturbing sign posted in the Hong Kong MTR.

I couldn't get enough of these. Hand-painting is standard for most signs in Peru and the sign painters are skilled and inventive. It made my inner typeface-geek squirm with joy

Former Westfield sign, draped over "Enfield Square" along Hazard Ave. Since removed for newer sign. (Fall 2006).

No skinny-dipping here then!

This site is a frequent put-in spot for floating the Lower Salmon River. The site is near large, sandy beaches and provides easy access to the Salmon River. BLM recreation sites attached to this stretch of river are Island Bar, Lucile, Old Lucile, Slate Creek, Skookumchuck, White Bird, Hammer Creek and Pine Bar. Be sure to check those sites for more information and amenities for boat ramps or camping. www.blm.gov/visit/shorts-bar-recreation-site

Finally ate here after years of passing the restaurant on the cable cars. Excellent restaurant, but I was too full to try their "little pancakes" for dessert.

Installation of a temporary sign on a roundabout in Loughborough.

Why he couldn't have parked his van round the corner? That would have avoided the blockage to pedestrians and avoided the blocked view to vehicles approaching the roundabout.

I guess he "risk compensated" these factors by the hi-viz clothing, vehicle hi-viz stripes & warning lights... but I suspect he was just being lazy.

The LED lightbars were illuminated, but the camera didn't manage to capture that.

Nelson Hospital, all its private roads were full of signs but at some stage replaced the official ones with the new types. These were the only two old ones remaining.

If Rodan had been more scatalogically minded.

Hoi Toi, the God of Luck, levitates the China Nite sign. 2783 Washington Boulevard, Ogden.

The interior is just as nifty.

ETA: now closed for good, sadly. AFAIK the place is intact for the moment.

I got a few shots of the empty Orange County Plumbing, paint, and carpet store in Middletown, NY. This is what is left of the sign at the entrance. Some of "Orange County" can still be seen in the upper left.

In the village of Pentwater, Michigan

While on a roadtrip wtih BT, somewhere north of Putney, VT in some village I will never remember the name of or find again, we happened on a colony of Vermont artists, and this was the only road sign we saw. Sometime later, I tried to figure out which litte hamlet we were in, but had the hardest time placing it on the map. The closest I've come to a real life Brigadoon.

"Solange die Erde steht, soll nicht aufhören Saat und Ernte, Frost und Hitze, Sommer und Winter, Tag und Nacht."

"Seed and harvest, frost and heat, summer and winter, day and night will exist as long as the earth is doing so."

This is, what is written on the walls of this house.

The Red Fleet Downhill flow trail is located just outside of Vernal, Utah. The trail offers a unique experience for visitors looking to hone their mountain bike speed and technical skills. Trail users can select from a green (easy), blue (intermediate), or double black (advanced) course based on their experience, and comfort levels. Thank you to all of our partners (including Northeastern Utah Mountain Bikers (NUMB), Uintah County, Utah Governor’s Office, Uintah County Special Services Transportation District, and Uintah County Travel and Tourism) who made this possible.

There are inherent risks in riding mountain bikes in a downhill setting and the BLM reminds you about some tips to keep in mind while using the trail system: familiarize yourself with the trails, thoroughly read posted information, bike within your skill level, and use appropriate protective equipment while biking on BLM lands.
