I've been laid up for a few months and just noticed this today.

Spotted this in Failsworth, now I know that the A62, A635 and A672 are slap-bang in the middle of the Pennine Moors but why have this sign here? I can understand it being nearer to Oldham but in Failsworth?

P.S. This is NOT in the Manchester City Boundary (even though the postcode for Failsworth is M35) but in Oldham so i've no idea why the additional info bit is saying "Manchester City, England"

I enjoy seeing simple neon signs of objects like this which seem like a throwback to the days when one frequently saw shoes, cocktail glasses and other symbols of businesses. I have found many different symbols since starting my Winnipeg & Area Neon Signs at Night, from coffee cups to musical instruments, saws, cigars, light bulbs and so on. Here we obviously have scissors and a comb.

The sign says "Naval and Fishing supplies - Hardware - Colors". Now the shop sells clothes, but they leave the sign because it is very nice.

Sorry for the pink dominant, but to walk under this porch is like to swim into strawberry ice cream.

A couple years ago my Wife & I had to sign our Daughters homework each night. I am not usually home in the evenings so the few times I was around to sign, I always added a little sketch to tell the teacher who I was. Apparently my daughter had saved these for a few years. Recently she decided to dispose of them. I took a picture of my favorites for posterity.

This sign may seem odd - but there are very few female sushi chefs.

Could be lots of reasons for this - one traditional one is that women have warmer hands and make the fish taste different.
