First "wild" Amoco sign sighting in a year. The station is a BP, but this sign still remains in great shape near the highway. I wonder if it lights up.

It is not attached to the CHASE sign. They are developing the land next to it and it made things easier to get near the sign as the weeds and shit had been cleared.

I parked behind a bank then walked to the bottom of the embankment by Barrington Rd.

Signs and signage from Hong Kong Disneyland

May 29, 2011, 8:14 a.m. I had seen this crazy-fun cheering section when I was running down Somerset Street West, and so when I spotted them again on Booth Street by the War Museum, it was picture-taking time !

Love the signs: "Toenails are overrated." & "The chaffing (sic) is temporary." Another one (not pictured) reads: "Run like you stole something."

This forlorn sign sits in the Washoe Valley, alongside Hwy 395. The motel it advertised was torn down a couple of years ago, but the sign remains. It is rusting, falling apart, it creaks in the wind, and many of the neon tubes are broken and gone. But still the sign remains, for how many more years nobody knows. It could stay up for decades until a strong gust of wind brings it down, or it could be cut down and removed tomorrow. Not knowing is part of the excitement of this ghost sign.

Long exposure, ambient light from sodium vapor and a full moon. Some light painting done with a million candlepower spotlight.

Let me know if you have any photos of it lit up.

Pre-war city sign at the Goat Bridge (Kozla Chupria), at the eastern boundary, on the Pale road. It looks to have been used as target practice during the war, but by 1999 the area had reverted to its traditional, more peaceful role as a popular picnicking spot for Sarajevans.

A witty sign stating that the traveller is "half-way up or down".

The signs you see around highways and freeways always seemed harsh, barren and intrusive when juxtaposed with the sea, clouds and trees. But when you take a larger view of the system, in terms of interconnected roadways held together by technology, it takes on a beauty of its own.

Massive collection of old signs at the Pioneer Auto Show in Murdo, South Dakota, a fun museum and quirky collection of stuff.

Neon vertical sign on Unique Theater, now a 99 cent store. The theater building is terribly old, but the vertical sign and marquee look like later additions and maybe reveal the hand of Skouras.

Although nothing special, Street signs in Japan have a special attraction to me.

The whole japanese address system is very strange and often even the police has difficulties to find a place.

On maps to shops you seldom have the direct address but rather what kind of places, like convenience stores or other shops, are close so you can find it. I sometimes think addresses in Japan have kind of a symoblic value ...

Most of the Ridgeway signs are black wood, or made out of a modern material called Plaswood (made out of recycled plastics.) This one was slightly different - an old, slightly rusting metal sign.
