The piste signposted was only a blue but on the last day I discovered it was probably one of my favourites. Had been on it earlier in the week when it was open but ungroomed and it was ok but then on the last day I think there may have been a basher up there at least once as it was smoothed out quite a bit. What this meant though was apart from getting round the bends (it was fairly narrow and windy) you could just straight line it all the way really, really fast it was...
Luckily also it was at the top of the longest button lift in the whole of Espace Killy so was never that busy either..
in the mid-nineties christian boltanski exhibited photographs of “ordinary“ ss officers which appeared in contemporary german magazines. there was something disconcerting about seeing these images of nazis in uniform with their wives and children, or juxtaposed with innocent magazine illustrations.

I like this view of the signal box and junction and was hoping to get some photos of 142s and 143s working from Treherbert but moments before one arrived I was asked to move further down the platform by BTP. Instead I had to make do with pictures of the junction taken from the footbridge. Here then is grade II listed signal box (Rhondda Branch Junction signal box) closed in 1998 and now boarded up. It is a modified version of McKenzie and Holland's type 3 design built between the Taff Vale Railway main line to the right and the Rhondda Branch to the left in 1902 controlling 230 levers taken from the end of the platform before I had to move.

Two unique under-done views of one of the remaining G-Signal "Tri-Lights" left along the Cal-P. As the Union Pacific phases new "Vader" signals in, these Tri-Lights are becoming more and more rare, like the searchlights before them.

Signal Hill is a small city embedded in the larger city of Long Beach, in the Los Angeles, California, area. It's named after a prominent hill with a commanding view. In 1921, the Long Beach Oilfield was found under the cities of Long Beach and Signal Hill. For a decade or so, this was one of the most productive oil fields in the world. The field is now largely depleted and only a few wells remain. In Signal Hill, California, on June 18, 2015.
