We even have a few apple trees scattered around the years of our Airbnb.

As seen from the deck. The bed has been completely taken over by evergreens.

The water heater is not in fact an intended permanent feature of the yard.

The liner will be folded and smoothed as the pond fills.

Built by my great grandparents and my Great Uncle Arthur and Great-Aunt Lettie. My grandfather grew up here, and for my mom practically did too.

Time has reduced the structure to a shabby suburban box, but my mom says the sideyard used to be lushly populated with fruit trees, a grape arbor, a rose garden, and bench swing. Where there are now run down cars out back, there used to be a chicken coop.

Baby, come over, I need entertaining

I had a stilted, pretending day

Lay me down and say something pretty

Lay me back down where I wanted to stay

Just say something perfect, something I can steal

Say, look at me

Baby, we'll be fine

All we've gotta do is be brave and be kind
