These little damselflies are so fast, and so hard to capture, even though they are a bit larger than the usual damselfly!

Love the blues and blacks!

My flowers are hidden from view.

The House Sparrows have been nesting in these pipes for some time now and I can hear their young chirping loudly when one of the parents shows up with food. I have noticed there are families in each of the pipes, it's like an apartment for the Sparrows :)

Bar - Restaurant - Bed and Breakfast Motel

Key West, Florida U.S.A. - Fall - 11/25/22

I've always liked this spot on the island. It's a Bed & Breakfast and also a restaurant...called Louie's Backyard. So tropical looking! It's in its glory at sunrise when the sun rises just beyond those palms. I've added a few images in different light below - Key West, Florida

In 1971, Louie Signorelli’s oceanfront Victorian home was transformed into Louie’s Backyard. The original restaurant seated only 12 and had one lone waiter. In 1983, Phil and Pat Tenney purchased and lovingly renovated Louie’s – with special attention to the maintenance of the buIlding’s historical integrity – and transformed it into the architectural delight it is today. Their efforts earned it a placement in the National Register of Historic Places. Today, Louie’s is a gourmand’s playground, a cafe-style restaurant with an oceanfront background setting – a must-do experience and a Key West tradition. Phil Tenney and his son Jed Tenney are at the helm, steering Louie’s Backyard into the future with its long-standing traditions and excellence. Visit and see this cool place for yourself!

I was happy to see the sun out, we were supposed to get heavy thunder storms.

You have to love it when a "mystery plant" appears in your yard thanks to likey a bird or critter. From what I have read this spotted dead nettle is a great ground cover and we are going to try to transplant some of it to on of the hills at the front as it apparently will spread :) Less grass to cut on the hills :-)

I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my little space here on Flickr.

On Saturday, we added this year's Christmas tree to the yard. It's aways a special day, but with fingers crossed that it will thrive!

HTMT!

Even the lavender plants on my sideyard are blooming like crazy. They have attracted many bees and this is one of them.

Sideyard hosta bud taken this evening on a quick photo walk around the house. 105VR lens and RAW format.

Have a great 2024 everyone! We plan to!

today was the first day of fall, and i could've sworn i felt a change in the air.

The same view in spring time. It's not the best picture, but every year the back hill was covered with white and purple violets, I've loved them ever since. Spring was also the time for the yellow flowered dog toothed voilet (sometimes called trout lily) and the ethereal virginia bluebells to appear, as well as the little white "spring beauties". The hedge out front, that separated the house and yard from the road, were russian olives and their thousand flowers perfumed the air with a spicey scent. This was the time for the lilacs, too. They formed the roadside hedge of the sideyard and bloomed in such abundance that people passing by in their cars would stop, knock on our door and ask if they could please pick some.

My home was so blessed that I never had to buy flowers until I went away to college.

sorry I haven't been posting photos except of my kids lately. I've lost my inspiration to take photos of much else. I want it back!
