The wrought iron bench sits underneath the date tree in the sideyard. The leaves are already falling.

Still can't get over how beautiful the chiles are when they turn red. I am roasting them right now!

We still need to make some tweaks, I need to add the catnip and wheatgrass plants, and I need to install some toys, but it's essentially ready to go.

This is the front half of the side yard. We've got quite a few dogwoods in our yard and it's lovely seeing them blossom. And yes, those are two pink flamingo plastic statues. They're an ironic nod to my Floridian-ness. You can't really see them from the road, but I can see them from the kitchen window and they make me smile.

KCPL seems to want to cut down our tree

I took this rather boring pola to show you how much I cleared out of the yard yesterday, but alas, I can't find a before shot! I pulled out all the dying and drying sage and cut down the irises and pulled many, many weeds. I had 5 big garbage bags full in a few hours! There's still more to do, but it will have to wait until another day.

The flowers are my zinnias that are still looking pretty good despite the recent lack of care.

One of the pink roses from the sideyard.

Not the best picture yet but this is a picture of my yard and I thought that I could pose it at an angle to make it "unusual". Plus I love the decorative pattern of the banister that's right behind my polished finger. And I love the tree. :)

This is in the sideyard, next to the rose. It's the herb garden sage, vs. the Russian Sage.
