I couldn't get to the yarn shop cos of the weather but was determined to start on this pattern. Poor planning and entitled parents at a birthday party saw us looking for a place to spend about half hour before we could pick up Medha. It was either Chili's or Walmart. I decided that the latter was lesser of the two evils - calorically, anyway - and picked up two acrylic skeins of Vanna's Choice in brick and black. The yarn is not soft and since someone already has first dibs on this hat, I think I am going to line it with a soft inner shell as the yarn is not that great.

Audiences were treated to award-winning musical performances, talks by with distinguished veterans, military exhibits, and activations.
Taking full advantage of New York media coverage and social media exposure, Britten’s project management team took full responsibility for conceptual design, printing, fabrication, and installation of stage graphics, barricade fencing, and an attention-grabbing FOAM3D selfie-sign in the shape of a guitar headstock.
A successful and high-profile event on every front, the jam-packed music bash was also the first-of-its-kind honoring military service. Britten was proud to take part, a feeling echoed in the words of Juan Serrano, director of Northwell Health’s Military and Veterans Liaison Services, who said, “It’s an honor to serve those who serve. No matter where, no matter why—no matter what."
