(2012) 365 Day Project Day 43
Took this at Living Legends, which is a horse complex for retired horses near Melbourne Airport. It is situated on the grounds near the Woodlands Estate. You can wander between the paddocks and each one contains usually one horse with the occasional pair together. There are many great names from Australian racing such as Might & Power, Better Loosen Up, Rogan Josh, Silent Witness and Paris Lane. I am not sure which pair this is but I liked the way they were side by side and thought the pose would make an interesting pic. Seemed to work best in black and white.

remembering a brave new world
by Chila Kumari Singh Burman
Tate Britain Winter Commission (November 2020 – February 2021)
This magnificent installation, remembering a brave new world, combines Hindu mythology, Bollywood imagery, colonial history and personal memories. Inspired by the artist’s childhood visits to the Blackpool illuminations and her family’s ice-cream van, Burman covers the façade of Tate Britain with vinyl, bling and lights. She changes the figure of Britannia, a symbol of British imperialism, into Kali, the Hindu goddess of liberation and power. The many illuminated deities, shapes and words are joined by Lakshmibai, the Rani (queen) of Jhansi. Lakshmibai was a fierce female warrior in India’s resistance to British colonial rule in the 19th century.
Burman is celebrated internationally for her radical feminist practice, spanning printmaking, drawing, painting, installation and film. Her Punjabi and Liverpudlian heritage enrich her self-expressive work. Burman mashes up stereotypes to create new identities, beyond the limitations imposed on South Asian women in a British cultural context.
The commission opened to coincide Diwali, the Festival of Light. It is a celebration of new beginnings, the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness. remembering a brave new world takes inspiration from the luminous struggles and victories of the past to offer hope for a brighter future.

This is the other side that is just open space. The space is a little cramped, but I have been able to get what I need into it.

The more shoots we do together, the more comfortable we become (photography-wise) with each other. I really enjoy taking pics of her as we are feeding off of the working energy from each other.

South side of the Administration Building showing the viewing deck. The viewing deck in the 1940s and 1950s was where travelers and local citizens could watch the planes fly in and out. When the USAF took over the building the deck was enclosed and used as a mechanical room. In 2006 the deck was restored to its former glory. The blue doors were used by passengers to get to the planes when the building was Wichita's Municipal Airport.
The Administration Building now the Kansas Aviation Museum is at 3350 S. George Washington Boulevard in Wichita Kansas. The Art Deco buiding was started in 1929 and was completed in 1934 after the infusion of funds through the New Deal relief programs. In the 1940s wings were added on the east and west sides of the building. The building provided air service until 1954 when Mid-Continent Airport was built. The USAF and the Kansas Air National Guard used the building for the next 30 years. In 1991 after extensive cleaning it became home to the Kansas Aviation Museum. In the 1940s Wichita's airport was one of the busiest recording a take-off or landing occurred every 90 seconds.
NRIS #90000908. Added in 1990.

My Polaroid camera wasnt taking any pictures so I thought the battery died in the camera. I only had 3 pictures left so i decided to just pull out the film and take out the left over film. I pulled it out and than put it back into my camera, took this picture and this is how it turned out. I kinda like it :)
