Shell Gas Station on Sepulveda and Venice in West Los Angeles. Southern California. This current station design replaced a more traditional smaller designed station that had a main building with island pumps sometime in the 1980s (approximately). The new building is totally self service with a small little booth. No automotive bays, etc.

Sanya is the southernmost city on Hainan Island in Southeast China. The population of Sanya is approximately 685,000 inhabitants living in an area of 1,920 square kilometres. The city is a popular tourist destination with Chinese and Russian tourists because of its tropical climate.

Celtic Shell

As a way to get my facebook fans involved in RAD I asked them to post suggestions of things they would like to see me use in rings. Sundays rings will be devoted to one of the suggestions. My mother chose sea shells and a repeat customer suggested a Celtic design. I thought I would try to merge the two. This was my first attempt at a Celtic knot. The top of the shell gets a little confusing so I posted the drawing I was working from. Was a really fun project but may have been a little too detailed for a few hours!

This large locomotive carving took 7 months to complete, from 1932 to 1933. 7,752 individual parts are present (all hand carved).
On public display at the Warther Museum, Dover, Ohio, USA.

whilst in Morocco i saw the old shell logo on the side of the street and directly opposite the latest logo, i thought the contrast was great hope you like,
Sea Gulls are surely one hungry lot, but they do leave an intersting pattern in the shells they leave behind.

At last I have had some time to work! This shell fragment is an unusually regular shape, a soft peach colour with lovely markings.
Built in 1933, this 68-foot high piece of history is displayed on Magazine Street in Cambridge along the Charles River. Although the station is still pumping gas, the sign has been not been illuminated for over two years. So many of the bulbs burned out that it appeared to spell the word “HELL”, and offended residents petitioned for it to be shut off. (#25 of 100 in the Boston Signage Project)
