NOV 2011 ~ The Driftwood Shelter

It was set up with various driftwood amenities: a bench and a table with expansive ocean front views. I sat and contemplated for a few minutes.

here is the mad scientist behind www.mnkr.com totally pimping.

Playa Conchal (Shell Beach) - a beach entirely composed of shells

Heermann's gull, Larus heermanni, Shell Beach, California. This beautiful gull is on the Audubon watchlist because of threats to the island off of Mexico where it breeds.

I think formally known as C Gerard Park?

A drawing i did inspired by the movie Dark City.

We went to Shell Beach at low tide.

Shell Beach, California

I grossly miscalculated both timing of our arrival and choice of lens. We were aiming for Pismo Beach, but the city was actually *full*. We ended up parking in the neighboring city a little north of Pismo and hiked to a spot that had a view of Pismo Pier. My 24-70mm didn't get me close enough (these are cropped). Ah well.

Beautiful white cockle shells and no sand at all. With the blue waters behind. Spectacular.

a view from where the cliff rock meets the beach sand.

I wondered if a bunch of testosterone flushed young men set this up? Then decided the log was much too heavy, the sand too malleable...to manage. It must the ocean's handiwork, a compelling sculptural contribution....a cannon pointed perfectly out to sea.

one of the many reasons I love where I live!!!
