Disco de 78 rpm. 10 pulgadas, prensado por Fonografía Artística, Chile.

Se trata de discos pirateados de los sellos Victor, Odeón, Brunswick y Columbia, vendidos a mitad de precio, a quienes no les alcanzaba su dinero para comprar discos de marca original. Se dice que la gomalaca usada para su manufactura se obtenía moliendo otros discos, de escasa aceptación, comprados en oferta y al por mayor.

La mayoría de los discos como este, fueron comprados por personas inexpertas para estrenar su primer fonógrafo, por esto, hoy casi todos se hallan muy gastados debido a su ejecución con agujas usadas (las agujas fonográficas de acero corriente sólo pueden ocuparse una vez, pero muchos no lo sabían.)

Para los años 40, a causa de las leyes de derechos de autor, desaparecieron todos los sellos pirata chilenos.

Las etiquetas de estos discos fueron impresas por la empresa Litografía Universo.

Lado B: Valencia, pasodoble (Tenor_repertorio español) Intérpretes desconocidos.

Uno de los primeros discos pirata en prensarse, hecho por Fonografía Artística entre los años 10 y los 20's.

Bajo este sello podían igualmente hallarse grabaciones originales de la empresa.

Como a Chile no llegaban aún matrices VICTOR, ODEÓN o COLUMBIA para prensar discos, estos discos tenían grabaciones norteamericanas y también europeas (probablemente de Gramophone Concert Record, Fonotipia, Zonophone o similares.)

1 coat MOP over 2 coats TF. MOP is full of fine holographic glitter and gives TF great depth, totally awesome!

2 coats. Looks plum indoors but definitely purple (which is true to bottle colour) in bright day light.

VV is darker than expected so I layered it with Romantique to lighten it. In fact VV is more of greige with a slight lilac hue, nothing violet to me. But it has a lovely metallic/steel shine.

DIY, 1 coat each. Less intense than using Wildfire alone, but not the orange red I've hoped for.

The amber shellaced oak came about because I needed to brace the sides of the old case to get some stability. I had intended to cover them with the suede but I liked this effect better. It's almost startling when you open the top: a nice little surprise.

Este disco sólo lleva impreso lo que se ve en la imagen (la pequeña etiqueta de precios rectangular, se la habría pegado el encargado de la disquería que vendió el disco en su época.) Disco de los 30's, grabación eléctrica (buen sonido.)

Shellacing station, Bldg. 6, Bay #1. I've concluded that a great brush is more than half the battle. I now only use Golden Taklon brushes (not cheap but well worth it)for shellacing. And with a few drops of Shellac Wet from Homestead Finishing I seldom have any runs or window panes that have to be sanded out anymore.

2 coats of Fedora with 1 coat of Tutti Frutti on top.

1 coat each, nice frosty pinkish coral for summer.

This is way more purple IRL. Very nice combo. Ring finger is 1 coat of Moonlight & Roses over PP but this is too frosty for my liking.

The shellac looks rough when it goes on but the magic happens when you rub it with super fine 0000 wire wool. All the little streaks and marks disappear and you get a lovely shiny finish.
