Shells from Sanibel Island, Florida, the most wonderful place in the world for collecting. Because the Island runs east-west, unlike most islands that run north-south, it acts like a giant scoop, resulting in the most amazing amount and variety of shells. The shells make a lovely twinkling sound as they tumble in the surf, and then wash up on shore, collecting ankle-deep, as I've captured here.
I use these shells, along with other natural elements, in my jewelry designs.

The shells were often few and far between on this popular beach. Well worn pieces seemed to be the only thing to find.
So many cool shells and sharks teeth from our trip. Aside from the trip home, spring break 2023 was a great success!

This is something folks normally do not see, unless they have egg-laying chickens.
Every once in a while we get an egg with a membrane, but without a shell. It feels like a soft water balloon. The membrane was placed on the yolk and white, but it somehow slipped past the "shell mechanism" and the shell wasn't deposited.
This particular egg was laid on the coop floor just before the chickens went to roost, and froze overnight. We allowed it to thaw, and this is what we got. The white was watery and the yolk remained encased in the membrane. When broken open, the thawed yolk resisited being blended (as for scrambled eggs). We have seen the chickens eat the few shell less eggs thus far, so this egg became chicken food.
The five Shell-Ferrari model cars available in the latest Shell-Ferrari collection are the 430 Scuderia, FXX Evoluzione, 599 GTB Fiorano, 612 Scaglietti and the 360 GTC.
Each car is a detailed 1:38 scale replica and has a unique Touch Steering function on the underside, giving directional control of the cars.
This function allows owners to programme the model cars to steer up to 15 different directions for each pull-back.
