Shell Falls is a waterfall in the Bighorn National Forest on Shell Creek, about half-way down Shell Canyon, and a few miles upstream from the town of Shell in northeast Wyoming. The falls are 120 feet (36 meters) in height and tumble over
Most of the shellermen I was around kept watch on the drags all the time. It was the best way to keep an eye on how much corn was going to the machine. You sure didnt want to get a machine clogged up with too much wet, shuckey corn. Plus rocks,or metal objects would break many of the cast parts inside the sheller. There were some guys near here who built steel parts for the inside of the sheller. That were much stronger than the cast parts. But you still needed to know what was going into it.

Compared to the Great Swamp NWR there's not a whole lot of RWBs at The Hook, but there are some specialists there that have developed some great techniques for feeding a family at the Jersey Shore. This particular guy was a shrimper, and he would find small shrimp in the swallow water on the flats at the "belly" of the hook. Here he's holding one down with his foot while he eats the good parts.
With this, I tried to make the shell look like it was deep within a forest of ferns and leaves. The result, I think, shows the shell breaking through a clearing of leaves, where it was previously hiding.

Discovered in 1835, Margate's Shell Grotto is an astonishing find; 21 metres of winding passages decorated with 4.6 million shells. The walls are covered in images of gods and goddesses, trees of life and patterns of whelks, mussels and oysters. Some think it is an ancient Pagan grotto, others that it is simply an ornate Regency folly; but with no definitive explanation or history, the Shell Grotto is Kent's greatest mystery.
