An experiment in develpoment with a cluster of shells on the landward side of a rock

When i get the chance i go to the West coast of Scotland to a small place called Port Ban, which is just south of Oban. This picture was taken in a small fishing village called Tarbert. I took it on a beach, which has been given the nick name Shell Beach, the intire beach is covered in large shells. They all get washed ashore and it looks like this.

I think its weird that I find a random shell on the ground.

These shells are pretty old. We've had them for as long as I can remember. They take me back to when we used to go to Myrtle Beach almost every summer it seemed. I don't really have memories tied to them. Just feelings. :)

These are some pictures from my first roll of film using the Canon AE-1. I am taking a photography class this fall and I needed a good 35mm camera. Now I am just learning it all :).

Thanks to Max for letting me borrow his camera.

How many crabs beasties and shells lie broken on our beaches? This patch was about a meter wide by about 4 meters long. There must be millions of bits and bobs in it. This is my arty farty image for the month.

There wasn't a speck of sand on the beach, just miles of tiny shells.

Nice shot of the front to see how the machine was driven. From the PTO shaft, to all the other belts and chains that all worked together. Ive always been amazed at how the men who designed machines like these. Understood how to use different sized pulleys to achieve what they needed to make this machine run almost perfectly. Today its all done by computers, but I gotta tip my hat to the old boys who set down and just figured it out.
