This is the same individual as seen in a previously posted pic. This pic is taken from a slightly different angle, and I think it's slightly sharper.

Exciting news - I've just released a brand new instructional eBook:
Sharper Images - A Guide For Nature Photographers!
For quite some time, I've wanted to compile a collection of my top tips surrounding the perennial hunt we photographers are on for razor sharp, detail-rich images. What started as a blog post snowballed into this in-depth guide.
Over the course of my 10 years behind a camera - 5 of those as a full time professional - I've honed my skills in some pretty challenging environments. Shooting in the deep, dark rainforests of British Columbia and the Neotropics has instilled in me the importance of technical proficiency. My aim with this publication is to provide an accessible, thorough overview of the difficulties presented to photographers, and the corresponding solutions that will aid those pursuing sharper results.
I'm confident this is one of the most beneficial ways any developing nature photographer can spend $25.
I hope you'll enjoy the read and that it will help you improve your craft, as well as expand your passion for spending time in the outdoors, chasing compelling images!
A sharper version than the previous 2...This is the fine mist that catches in the cobwebs between the stubble on a drizzly morning.

One of the things I love about Flickr is that it can be very collaborative. As I've been posting so many of my collected "found photos" and "found slides" so many people in the Flickr community have been so helpful in identifying locations of the photos, car makes and models, and lots of other information I haven't known myself.
Also I love it when somebody works with a photo I've shared to make it that much better, as is the case of this excellent restoration job done by Chet Kresiak that he sent me this morning.
My original version is the comments below.
You can see Chet's version is so much cleaner (lots of dust removed) so much sharper and so much more vibrant, in better keeping with the Kodachrome original slide.
I do spend time editing all my slide scans, but Chet takes it to a whole new level with his excellent restoration work.
Check out his work on Flickr here where he as so many enhanced and restored scans: www.flickr.com/photos/chetkresiak/albums
One of a series of shots of the Langdale Pikes viewed from Blea Tarn. Taken at dusk during variable wind, the patterns on the water constantly changing. This is an 8 second exposure, the previous shot is 1/6th yet the wind had dropped and the water was calmer when that one was taken so the reflections sharper.

This image showcases the bright orion nebula and its surrounding dust. The bright central nebula is lit by the star cluster at its center; the rest of the dust is a combination of glowing red hydrogen and darker, cooler dust. Some notable features in this image include the tip of the horsehead nebula on the bottom left, and the dark trail of dust including NGC 1999 on the right.
This image combines 28 hours of long exposure with 30 minutes of short exposure to preserve dynamic range. 8 hours of data were discarded to create a sharper image.

I have gone to the Camera Shop and asked questions and practiced a bit but still have a lot to learn!!
Third try with "Ginnheim Asparagus" in its beautiful lighting. It's a perfect model, it doesn't move :-)
Took this today in the late afternoon, when it was not completely dark outside, yet.

Too many similar photos I guess, but the light had changed every time I looked up and I snapped another one... I remember the sky had cast over for a bit then when the sun popped through again everything looked so sharp. This is that memory, in an image.

A sharper version of my Rebel Speeeed photo.
This is one of the most difficult photos I've taken. I needed the scenery and bike to be moving, but I also needed the figures head to be as still as possible.
I was setup in our garden with lights to photograph a dragonfly that's been around. The dragonfly didn't cooperate and while I was waiting I saw a swallowtail butterfly flapping around our plants. I rushed around and grabbed a shot without strobes. I wish it were sharper, but it's the only photo that I've taken in nature of one of these butterflies.
Other pictures that I've taken of butterflies are in my Butterflies and Dragonflies set.

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”
W.B. Yeats
William Butler Yeats was an Irish poet, dramatist, writer and politician. One of the foremost figures of 20th-century literature, he was a driving force behind the Irish Literary Revival and became a pillar of the Irish literary establishment who helped to found the Abbey Theatre.
Our one and only piece of fruit on our new, tiny, orange tree. We did have a few other hopeful little starters but they didn't hang on. This one, made it to maturity, and eventually fell to the ground. The flavour was delicious so we have high hopes for next season as there are already new flower buds appearing - seems to be the way with oranges.
This is a blend of two images - the background flowers were a little sharper in a second image so I added them to the first.

Snowy Owl | Arrival
From a distance of 250 meters*, this Snowy Owl descended from its high perch to glide into the wind inches above an open field and graciously landed next to the remnants of a patch of snow, 70 meters from where I was standing under a cloudy sky just before sunset. Although it momentarily looked in my direction on a few occasions, it generally set its gaze away from my location, suggesting the bird was not stressed by my presence. I could have closed the gap with the bird to get sharper shots. However, I resisted the impulse to give the bird the space it needed. Instead, I did not linger and promptly left the site knowing that my mid-range telephoto lens and high-resolution camera along with post-production editing tools would nonetheless turn out interesting flight shots and compositions. Looking at the result, I believe I was right in balancing my interaction with this angel visiting from the arctic circle. Southeastern Ontario, Canada.
*Distances measured from Google Satellite map.
Early 08 I got busy on this one and went pretty hard. These letter's are prepared for battle in flight. I am sure Joker will be into this!
