Sharp-shinned hawk had sparrow (? House) in this recently trimmed hedge plant. It would even dive down into the tangle of branches to attempt to flush it out. Just after this photo the small sparrow flew toward a nearby bush but the sharp-shinned was so quick it downed the small bird about two meters out from the hedge. Within in a minute or less the hawk departed with dead bird and all that was left were a few feathers. Photo by my assistant Erica.

Outfits so sharp they could puncture the hull of an Empire-class Fire Nation battleship leaving thousands to drown at sea

Another architecture image taken the other day...

I spotted this when actually parked at Newcastle Beach after a sunrise shoot.

I liked the acute angle of the leading edge of this building - I exaggerated this by leaving on my wide-angle lens and taking a couple of shots, including this one.

This is one of the new buildings that has been built on the former Royal Newcastle Hospital site.

Who says that these wee guys don't have sharp teeth ?, "Look at the one I did earlier"...

Sharp-tailed Grouse displaying in a lek at Arrowwood National Wildlife Refuge, Pingree, North Dakota.

On April 29th I started my day at 2:45 am. I drove with three friends to a lek in Southern Alberta. We had to be in the blind by 5 am. It sure took a long time before there was enough light to take photos. We could hear the grouse. They were making many sounds and we could see their outlines in the dark. It was another great day. The last time I was out there was two years ago.

I was using a brand new camera so I had many photos to delete and of course far too many photos over all. Most photos were only cropped. I didn't adjust any colors. Some photos are not even cropped.

Thanks for your visits and comments. They are all greatly appreciated!

I think it's a Sharp-shinned, but I find stationary Sharp-shinned/Cooper's difficult to identify. Feel free to comment with input.
