After the move. My first attempts at signage to get across the idea that despite the big sign overhead, the two staffers at this large service counter have two very different kinds of expertise. I brought over the yellow 11x14 sign from our old desk to put on our side, and made a new 8 1/2 x 11 landscape sign for the center. It was too small, few patrons really noticed it.

I almost walked away from the Bridge this evening after the sky seemed to fade into nothing much, but then a woman stopped me for what seemed like pretty trivial conversation. It was cold and I was in a hurry to walk home and warm up, and as we exchanged goodbye's I turned and saw this sky happening behind me. Maybe that conversation wasn't so trivial after all...
Muppet here also forgot to check the resolution size that her camera was switched to (it's normally on the highest all the time), only much later did she discover it was on the lowest. THAT'S why the picture size is so small and the quality not as crisp as it should be. How annoyed with myself am I? :(

Artists will present their work, and Foundational Sharing texts will be read aloud, provided to everyone to enjoy. Foundational Sharing is about making contact and finding connections; creating community through shared experience.

Light rail and heavy rail both serve the former MSJ&A station of Navigation Road, on the outskirts of Altrincham. Here Northern Rail's Class 156 488 pays a brief call on its way from Manchester to Chester, whiel a Mancheter Metrolink tram recedes in the distance towards Manchester. Note that only the up line is electrified today and this section is in effect operated as separate single lines.
This female Orangutan was sitting alone by a small waterfall, holding a piece of burlap over her head to keep off some of the spray. The young Orangutan came up to her, and she welcomed him under the burlap and they embraced. Within a few moments, the youngster had moved the burlap entirely over his head. The adult was fine with this--she seemed mainly focused on holding the arm and hand of the youngster, and caressing him. They sat quietly together, enjoying each others presence.
The word 'Orangutan' means 'person of the forest'. They are among the most intelligent of primates, and can live for over 30 years. The Orangutans are endangered, and are currently found only in the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra. They are the most arboreal of the great apes, and spend most of their time in trees. Their diet consist mainly of fruit, but also vegetation, bark, honey, insects and even bird eggs. Threats to them include poaching, destruction of habitat, and illegal pet trade.

Large White (Pieris brassicae)
The Large White is one of two species (the other being the Small White) that can claim the title of “Cabbage White” that is the bane of allotment holders all over the British Isles. The larva of this species can reach pest proportions, and decimate cabbages to the point that they become mere skeletons of their former selves. The female is distinguished from the male by the presence of 2 black spots, together with a black dash, on the forewing upperside. This is one of the most widespread species found in the British Isles and can be found almost anywhere, including Orkney and Shetland. This species is also known to migrate to the British Isles from the continent, augmenting the resident population in the process.

This image is taken in the same area as the last posting. My eye was caught by the shared pensiveness of these two children while sellers and buyers in this chaotic market ebbed and flowed around them. Life is tough on these streets.
