I was recently in London with work (BuroHappold Engineering) for "Graduates' Week" - a week for everyone joining the company at graduate level within the past year or so to get together for teamwork tasks and networking. On the last day we were able to explore some completed BH projects around London. Unfortunately my group didn't get to go to the British Museum but I made time to see it before heading back to Edinburgh.
The roof is essentially one big barrel vault made of bespoke triangle shapes, which I believe are not very uniform in size! I think it's very effective and creates a nice space within the museum.
Shape enhances this photo because it makes it very interesting. The curves on the flower petals and the leaves attract your eye to the picture. To create this image, I put the vase of flowers next to the window and spread the flower petals open off of this flower. I got my camera as close to the flower without it going out of focus as I could. On photoshop, I adjusted the brightness, saturation, and hues. I think that I shot at a good angle and created good contrast between the greens and the pinks. It I could change the photo I would of tried different ways to get closer to the flower to capture better texture.

Requirement 2: 2-D shape as the primary element
From the photo you can clearly see the shape of a bird. The photo of a heron was taken against bright skies. I used aperture-priority mode with aperture of f/5.6, ISO 100 and exposure compensation of +2/3 in order to create the silhouette and remove distracting details.
In post production, I decreased highlights and increased contrast to intensify the shape.
1: The element this image is expressing is "Shape." It is reflected to composition because it serves to create a mood and it leads the eye through the photograph.
2: The main subject matter of the photograph is positioned near shape.
3: The steps that make this image successfully visually striking is the darkening of the shadows and really focusing on the wheel of the wheel barrow.
Both potholders were made by alternating stockinette and reverse stockinette to create the shape of the house, as gridded from a photograph. After finishing the first half, I put the stitches on a stitch holder and picked up the same number of stitches from the original cast-on edge. After working the second half as a relief of the first half, except that the house silhouette was not a true mirror image, I cast off both edges with a three-needle bind-off (leaving only the two sides to actually sew shut).
The coffee sleeve pattern is adapted from One Skein Wonders. I think it would make a great stocking stuffer! Works up quickly, and doesn't use too much cashmere if you can only afford one skein. I made it just with some leftover yarn I had from another project, but I'm sure I could make a couple more sleeves with the remainder.
