More strange light bending... this is not a solid object. It's light bent by glass.

A friend from America brought these over. The children were fascinated for a while, but I ended up collecting them from round the house where they had been scattered. They provide a splash of colour on a grey day, but also a bit of a puzzle - how many shapes can you identify?

All inward forces clash and iterate to shape a single leaf

Inward clash and iterate iterate to shape inward and inward clash

Single leaf clash and iterate clash and clash a single leaf

And yes you would you would this single leaf this fragment

And yes you would and yes this single single without

This is in Glendale, California's Eagle Rock section. The name of the motel is not "Shapes". I like the shapes in the picture. The motel is called Islander.

When you look abstractly at my photo, you might notice the shape. This is not the best representation of a 2-dimensional shape, but it is a good photo. I took this in the afternoon, so the sun was streaming brightly through the window. I love how the light catches on the fur, creating a halo around the paw. I stabilized my camera on the carpet, so the original photo had a lot of negative space at the bottom. I’m glad I cropped it out. The main focus of the photograph is the actual paw. The different pads are shapes that are offset by color and fur. This creates an interesting focal point. I feel like the texture in this photo is more evident than shape, but I struggled with this assignment.

A success of this photo is the picture quality. It is clear and uses depth of field to its advantage. A failure of the photo is the lack of evident shape. It is also rather dull in the color department. I have realized that most of my photos share the neutral color palette. I just like it better. Originally, this photo was darker, and then I adjusted the exposure and brought out the texture in the paw. Overall, I like this photograph, but not for the assignment.

The glass only stays pliable for around 10 seconds after coming out of the furnace. It is a constant cycle of heat and shape, heat and shape.
