A clear view of the spread tail feathers is necessary for a definitive identification, but this is about 95% likely to be an Allen's rather than the very similar Rufous hummingbird. Newport Beach Back Bay, California

Even in sunny Florida this Reddish Egret needs to fluff up its feathers to help regulate its body temperature.
We had an earthquake here half an hour or so ago! I thought I was imagining things to start with but when I saw the light swaying I knew I wasn't, it went for what seemed like ages. No damage here but it's apparently been widely felt across southern NZ.
And I'm still shaking here :-)
Thanks as always to
Paul two of his wonderful textures.
I got to spend some time alone with this cutie today. I think it was showing off for me by doing The Shake :-).
Male Polar Bear (Ursus maritimus) emerges from the icy bay with a shake of his massive head. Classified as marine mammals, these bears are at home in the water and are excellent swimmers.
Today was one of the first summer days in Northern Germany. So we went for a walk to the wildlife park. The bears took a bath in their little pool and had a lot of fun - we had that too, it was a joy to watch them!
In this photo you can see how one of them shaked the water out of his thick fur. Wow!

Only 8-ish miles into the shakedown run of the fresh CSX pair down the mainline and we have them stopped for a bit at Kenova, WV so we can nab an over-under with NS train 217. It's good to be king!
Here monsoon is in full swing with a series of depression. I found this wet 'Chestnut-tailed starling' in our garden. It was shaking its body to dry its feathers. I love its wet body and the water droplets it was spreading in the air.
A Tricolored Heron shakes out its breeding plumage along the shoreline, releasing a small cloud of dust and loose feathers.
Sometimes watching birds could be so funny...

So, if you want to say something about my photo, it will be really appreciated, no matter if it's about liking or some constructive criticism. Your own thoughts and words will mean much more to me than a universal-text.
Also please don't post pictures in the commenting-area. You could post them much better in your own photo stream. ;-D

This triptych was made using two separate photos. The Water Fountain was cropped to allow for the extra panels. On the second image I panned with the camera moving to my right. For the final image, I turned the camera quickly 90 degrees and the panning stopped immediately.

Daily Dog Challenge: Sparkle
A little water sparkle and a sparkle in Kahn's eyes as he enjoys the water😀🐾💕💦
A dog shakes off water as he reaches the top of the ramp getting out of the Ultimate Air Dog pool. The dog and owner carefully work out their timing for this event. The dog has about a 20' run down the dock to get up to speed and the owner times his throw of a dog toy so that the dog hopefully can catch it midair over the pool. the dog is judged by the distance he leaps out into the pool. The applause of the crowd is a good indicator of style points in his jump and whether or not they actually catch the toy
