Just in time for the fall with this really very “Pretty Shade” of orange. Fall upon us means plenty of colors coming our way. Enjoy the season change and all the colors coming your way. Gratitude and Kindness don’t change so enjoy them as well.

Mountain shadow in Oregon. By Susan Ruzicka

Went on a country drive northwest with hopes of getting as far as Galena but only got as far as the Rock River and Rt. 72. ive been searching for fall colors but they are slim pickins. Found this small farm building under a tree that has pretty much reached its own personal peak in the color change. The way it shaded the building and framed it caught my eye.

This is a fortress from 1677 on an island just outside a cute little town called Stavern

 

Absolutely worth a visit

Redwood sorrel is one of the very few plants adapted to the prolonged shade under the giant coastal redwoods. After the winter rains, sorrel spreads - appearing like a thick, rolling green carpet. In this grove the redwood sorrel thrives in the shade provided by the forest canopy.
