Pilgrims make their obeisances in the shade of a courtyard tree in one of Wutai Shan's famous temples in Shanxi Province, China.
A bench in the shade outside the Ringling Museum in Sarasota Florida. I come here from time to time to take pictures of the manicured grounds. This was a particularly hot day and I thought this bench was well placed under the shade of a Banyan. There are a lot of trees here so it makes wandering the grounds a bit easier in summer. They also have ice cold lemonade at a snack bar under one of the largest Banyans in the region. Where would we be without Banyans.
Wendy and I finished making the angle cuts for our shade frame as well
as cleaning up the edges. Now we need to make a jig and begin welding
it all together.
This huge tree is in front of the Foy Building. It provides shade to the building and the surrounding walk ways. It is also a good home for squirrels, birds, and other creatures. Therefore, this tree helps make the Foy Building a little greener.
Slip into the autumn shade
i could sleep for days
But I like the sun when
I can hear another sound
It's a long way down
Keep my head up
Who am I to be this way
Dreamin so insane
But I like the sun when
Falling through another plain
Never one the same
Keep my head up
(the vines)

Soil degradation and lack of wood from trees are among the primary issues for Senegal. The dry season is a staggering 8-9 months long with rain only lasting 2-3 months for crops and food to grow. The reintroduction of shade trees is a priority for Heifer Senegal. Cinder blocks stacked up around young tree seedlings insure its survival from stray livestock and other predatory elements.

Shade at Great America. I know, we don't get much sun in Wisconsin so I should be in it when possible, but sitting in the shade was nice.
