A glossy coated wooden floor shader. This would be useful for interior renders. I used the new procedural Brick texture in Cycles in split the floor into boards. I then used another Brick texture but with some blacks and grays in it and overlayed that on top of the wooden texture to add some slight color variations. The amount of displacement, the length and width of the boards, the color randomness, and the practically everything else is very easily customizable. You even do it without the displacement or the ridges by just deleting the first Brick texture.

Yes, finally, i am happy with how she looks. This is my final version of the Shade, made by Outcast Inc. Please, comments and notes are appreciated.

An overdue addition to my shots from Glastonbury Tor (see album). There was so many animals in on and around the Tor that day it was one of the best days of photography

Peonies

wet with dew like pearls

the real thing.

A pretty girl

breaking one off

strolls out

to the front courtyard

and smiles,

asking her lover

"Is the flower prettier than my face?"

The lover meaning to tease her says

"Yes! The flower's prettier"

At which in a burst of girlish rage

she crumples the flower to bits

And flings them

at him.

Taken at Cricket Hill Garden, where they also provided a handout with several Chinese peony poems. Challenging photography, with harsh sunlight hitting the white umbrellas and most of the flowers well in the shade.

The Vienna Zoo at Schönbrunn is the oldest existing zoo in the world and was voted Europe's best zoo in 2009. Each year more than two million visitors come to see the panda baby, newborn elephants and many other rare animals.

Today the Zoo at Schönbrunn is considered one of the best and most modern zoos in the world. The animal compounds have a particularly generous and natural design. More than 500 animal species - from Siberian tigers and hippos to one-horned rhinoceroses - live here.

Vancouver’s Chinese Garden was built in 1985-1986 using the time honored principles and techniques of the original Ming dynasty garden. Fifty-two master craftsmen from Suzhou China, working with Canadian counterparts, completed this landscape masterpiece within a year. The intricate halls and walkways are constructed with precise joinery and without the use of nails, screws or glue. The Garden opened on April 24, 1986.

Based on the principle of collaborative design, the Garden compliments the adjacent public park; enhancing the view in both places.

For the architect, the botanist, the student of history, the lover of beauty, the Garden provides insights into the subtle wonders to be found within the walls of this living treasure.

Cheryl Ann Thomas's Shade (2017) at the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton.

Saw the divide between light and shade, with the subjects on the balcony just catching the sunlight. I've tried stitching some photos together to get some interesting compositions, that bring both sides of the building in.

Day 26 Year 2: This is me, with a laundry bag on my head lol...hopefully it doesn't look like just me, with a laundry bag on my head :)

It was so hot outside

She skipped the Sun

and slipped under

wide swept branches

to have a refreshing shade bath.

Canyon de Chelly National Monument is located in northeast Arizona, inside the Navajo reservation. It contains a monumental canyon system which has been inhabited for two millennia.

In an arid region where shade trees can be very scarce, the Navajo build shade houses such as this one.

I visited this place on August 18, 2017.

The intention was to capture this lady standing staring into the distance while she was awaiting in the shade. The other lady walked by without I even noticing and ended up in the frame. I'm pleased non the less. The film journey.

Main and 500 South near the Court House Trax stop -- Salt Lake City, Utah. One of the things I love about Salt Lake City is the wide streets and sidewalks usually shaded by mature trees. A beautiful (and safe) place to enjoy a walk.

A group of workers take a much needed rest in some shade. They've just come out of the steel crane legs above after cleaning the insides with grinders ready for painting. It's over 120F and 83% humidity in there.

A man walking and holding a folder with his face covered in shade. Isn't this familiar?

Hostas do well in the shade. This one gets sun only about 2 hours a day.

doesn't that look scary?? yesss a shade ship!!

For two days, Neutron slept like this. Butt out in the sun, head under the chair.

For Burningman 2009 I built this shade structure out of PVC pipe, 2x4, and a bunch of zipties.

It rolls up to fit on the roof rack.

The rhodies and hostas came with the house. I removed a yew and added the rest.

This is the shade garden...It is totally constructed from re-claimed and upcycled materials. There ain't one new thing in it. Not one.

A while ago, Phil from a Boston-area school, did a special project with his class w/ a reading of the Octonauts and the Sea of Shade. Then the kids drew their favourite parts from the book and sent them to us. (So wonderful!) Here is a random selection of them (They were all so good, so we just scanned in a dozen for now.) Thanks again to Phil and his class for this wonderful present!

Because of the energy shortage, people are being advised not to use AC. What is left then... Open the door and get a fan. This house is keeping the sun from coming in along with the wind, blocking it with this traditional shade.

My sister and I have been playing with ideas for names for Shade and Raphia ,but we're still not sure. She wants to name him Andrew. I want to name him A.N.D.R.E.W. (Alastair Noll Darnell Riel Emery Worcester). I haven't had a chance to talk it over with her in a while.
