Setting sail across New York. The views overlooking the Lower Manhattan skyline is beyond breathtaking.
We set sail Friday morning from Half Moon Bay in a 35’ Erickson sailboat to attend Opening Day on the Bay, and spend the weekend moored off Angel Island along with other boats and friends attending the three-day party. Opening Day began in 1917, and is the last Sunday in April, and marks the start of the Northern California sailing season. There is a parade of decorated boats (over 100, took over two hours!) and lots of boat visiting and partying.
I tried to make everything special from the menu to the decor. I even used cloth napkins and napkin rings!
