A large fountain with a basin in Jardin de Luxembourg had groups of children pushing small sailboats. There were a lot of them with different sail designs and what not. Fun stuff.
Pretty much at the beginning of our 18km hike around the Fairfield Horseshoe, on Swedish Lane near Ambleside.
The sun was just starting to peek over the hills into the valleys on what was certainly a cold morning.
However, it wasn't as cold as the next day, as the areas we traversed were completely covered in snow for the next few days as a storm hit the region.
There were a few walkers out (note the gent and his dog in the distance), but certainly nowhere near as many as you'd see during the warmer months - which certainly makes sense. We chatted to a few walkers on our way around and was advised it can be like a motorway around Ambleside and Rydal in better conditions.
In saying that, conditions were pretty good, about 4 degrees, but no rain or cloud (until late in the day), very little wind and excellent visibility made it perfect day for the walk/hike/scramble.
