Practicing self-care and self-love has become an essential part of my life and it has helped me stay upbeat and true to myself despite all the setbacks and obstacles life has thrown my way. It never ceases to amaze me how grounding and rewarding a few simple habits of self-care can be. I’ve never felt so at peace with myself and my life and it gets better every single day.
Self-care helps in many challenging situations, but it’s the most effective when you practice it regularly. The more often you actively love yourself the more intuitive and powerful these self-care tools get. You’ll be able to let go of stress, anger, frustration, fear, resentment and the nagging feeling of unworthiness. You’ll cherish your body and listen to your needs. You’ll de-clutter your mind and embrace life as it is now.
You’ll be so much more balanced and free. And, yes, you’ll also love yourself for the brilliant person you are. Here’s some suggestions you can apply to your own needs as often as you can – 1 a Day Is Good!
1. Pamper yourself (soak in a hot both, reward yourself with a relaxing face massage,
new get a new haircut or get a manicure and pedicure)
Don’t shy away from spending time and/or money on yourself. You deserve it.
2. Jump in piles of leaves
Have fun!
3. Delight in little things
Enjoy the sun on your face, the taste of chocolate on your tongue, the excitement in a loved one’s voice or the laughter of a child.
4. Create a vision board
Get creative. Use images you’ve found in magazines, pictures you’ve taken yourself, glitter and lots of color.
5. Sing Karaoke –buy your own machine and have an in-home karaoke party---or do it alone!

.New Fresh Start program helping families hurt by foreclosure during recession
DOVER — A new state program is designed to help families and individuals who have experienced foreclosures, job loss, or other financial difficulties stemming from the financial crisis that began in 2008, Governor John Carney and other officials announced this week.
Fresh Start, a partnership between the Delaware State Housing Authority and DHSS’ financial empowerment program, $tand By Me, offers free financial coaching to help Delawareans get past setbacks and move toward home ownership again.
“Home ownership is a fundamental element of our economy and important to ensuring our neighborhoods thrive,” said Governor Carney. “We have to make sure that all Delawareans have an opportunity to succeed, achieve financial stability and strengthen their communities. Through Fresh Start, we are giving people the tools they need to help them work through economic challenges.”
The statewide program, funded by bank settlements, was developed to help Delawareans who lost their homes due to foreclosure, short sale, or deed in lieu arrangements, said DSHA Director Anas Ben Addi. They may wish to improve credit, increase savings, or decrease debt to put them in a better position to buy a home or rent.
“Fresh Start reaches Delawareans who have struggled to recover and get back on the path to financial stability,” Ben Addi said. “Losing your home or job is painful and a significant challenge, but with the right coaching and assistance, we can help Delaware families move forward again.”
$tand By Me, a partnership with the United Way of Delaware, works with nonprofits to offer personal financial coaching, with four coaches statewide devoted to helping Fresh Start clients.
“Our goal is to provide people with the information, resources and support they need to establish and achieve their financial goals,” said $tand By Me Director Mary Dupont. Since it began six years ago, $tand By Me has served more than 75,000 Delawareans, including more than 14,000 who have participated in financial coaching.
Governor Carney and other leaders spoke at an event formally kicking the program off at the Goodwill store at Lea Boulevard in Wilmington. Goodwill is one of three nonprofits with Fresh Start financial coaches, along with NCALL Research and Interfaith Community Housing of Delaware.

SAN FRANCISCO(AP) - The decision to move Johannes Mehserle's trial to Los Angeles County is a setback for the former transit officer charged with killing an unarmed man on New Year's Day.
Jurors throughout California are typically sympathetic to police, and the former Bay Area Rapid Transit officer could've expected a leg up before the start of trial in most any courtroom in the state's 58 counties.
But legal analysts say Los Angeles is atypical and a bad draw for Mehserle.
The former officer will have to overcome the lingering specters of the Rodney King beating, the O.J. Simpson acquittal because of police behavior and other high-profile verdicts that expose many residents' deep-rooted skepticism of law enforcement.
Mehserle is charged with fatally shooting 22-year-old Oscar Grant at an Oakland BART station. His attorney had argued for a change of venue because of what he described as excessive media coverage and racial tensions.

With early vaccination and outstanding data, country is the world’s real-life COVID-19 lab.
Israel has among the world’s highest levels of vaccination for COVID-19, with 78% of those 12 and older fully vaccinated, the vast majority with the Pfizer vaccine. Yet the country is now logging one of the world’s highest infection rates, with nearly 650 new cases daily per million people. More than half are in fully vaccinated people, underscoring the extraordinary transmissibility of the Delta variant and stoking concerns that the benefits of vaccination ebb over time.

Israel’s sobering setback
Israel, which has led the world in launching vaccinations and in data gathering, is confronting a surge of COVID-19 cases that officials expect to push hospitals to the brink. Nearly 60% of gravely ill patients are fully vaccinated.

What is clear is that “breakthrough” cases are not the rare events the term implies. As of 15 August, 514 Israelis were hospitalized with severe or critical COVID-19, a 31% increase from just 4 days earlier. Of the 514, 59% were fully vaccinated. Of the vaccinated, 87% were 60 or older. “There are so many breakthrough infections that they dominate and most of the hospitalized patients are actually vaccinated,” says Uri Shalit, a bioinformatician at the Israel Institute of Technology (Technion) who has consulted on COVID-19 for the government. “One of the big stories from Israel [is]: ‘Vaccines work, but not well enough.’”

.New Fresh Start program helping families hurt by foreclosure during recession
DOVER — A new state program is designed to help families and individuals who have experienced foreclosures, job loss, or other financial difficulties stemming from the financial crisis that began in 2008, Governor John Carney and other officials announced this week.
Fresh Start, a partnership between the Delaware State Housing Authority and DHSS’ financial empowerment program, $tand By Me, offers free financial coaching to help Delawareans get past setbacks and move toward home ownership again.
“Home ownership is a fundamental element of our economy and important to ensuring our neighborhoods thrive,” said Governor Carney. “We have to make sure that all Delawareans have an opportunity to succeed, achieve financial stability and strengthen their communities. Through Fresh Start, we are giving people the tools they need to help them work through economic challenges.”
The statewide program, funded by bank settlements, was developed to help Delawareans who lost their homes due to foreclosure, short sale, or deed in lieu arrangements, said DSHA Director Anas Ben Addi. They may wish to improve credit, increase savings, or decrease debt to put them in a better position to buy a home or rent.
“Fresh Start reaches Delawareans who have struggled to recover and get back on the path to financial stability,” Ben Addi said. “Losing your home or job is painful and a significant challenge, but with the right coaching and assistance, we can help Delaware families move forward again.”
$tand By Me, a partnership with the United Way of Delaware, works with nonprofits to offer personal financial coaching, with four coaches statewide devoted to helping Fresh Start clients.
“Our goal is to provide people with the information, resources and support they need to establish and achieve their financial goals,” said $tand By Me Director Mary Dupont. Since it began six years ago, $tand By Me has served more than 75,000 Delawareans, including more than 14,000 who have participated in financial coaching.
Governor Carney and other leaders spoke at an event formally kicking the program off at the Goodwill store at Lea Boulevard in Wilmington. Goodwill is one of three nonprofits with Fresh Start financial coaches, along with NCALL Research and Interfaith Community Housing of Delaware.

Israel, which has led the world in launching vaccinations and in data gathering, is confronting a surge of COVID-19 cases that officials expect to push hospitals to the brink. Nearly 60% of gravely ill patients are fully vaccinated.

A fun build for the LCC.
Story:
Erathor had meant to ride at dawn, but had been delayed till noon. There was trouble in the village close to Sarenhold, and the new Lord had had to deal with it. It was a useless setback, but eventually he and his men left the city, going to help Lord Tatharn, a good friend to Erathor, retrieve the Sword of Arondor.
The Sword had recently been stolen from Fangroth city so, along with a few other brave Loresii, Erathor was going to help return it to it's rightful place in the city. It was strange, but Erathor felt like he was riding to war. He dearly hoped he wasn't.
Allaeus rode to his right, spear in hand. He would only accompany him for a day or two before he would have to turn back. The new Queen of Roawia was being crowned soon, and Allaeus was attending in Erathor's place. The whole event made Erathor feel uneasy. Could the theft of the Sword and the coronation of Galainir be connected? He didn't know, but the thought did not quickly leave his mind. There was no telling what could happen.
Firstly, I want to apologise for the poor quality of my last two MOCs, Erathor's marriage and his becoming a Lord. I was in a rush to build them as I'm leaving for Edinburgh today, but I should've spent more time over them.
Secondly, good luck to the few who entered the LC11! It should be a great contest!

(Sept. 27, 2008) - Coming off a disappointing setback a week earlier and with the memory of an upset lost to Albany two seasons ago still in their minds, Delaware made sure of the outcome this time. Backed by a defense that allowed just 150 total yards and a 60-yard interception return for a touchdown by Tyrone Grant, the No. 17 ranked Blue Hens dominated the second half and cruised to a 38-7 victory over Albany Saturday night.

The four blunt towers of the WFC, which range in height from 34 to 51 stories, recap and extend the development of skyscraper style. The setback façades recount the history of the skyscraper. Each tower is divided into five major sections. The platforms appear to be largely lithic, with windows punctuating a granite-framed facade, evoking the first masonry skyscrapers. The proportions of stone and glass change at the setbacks. At the second setback the balance of stone and glass is more even, recalling the regularity of Rockefeller Center and its expansion west of Sixth Avenue. The third setback before the attic is more open and glassy, with only the thinnest grid of superimposed granite mullions, like postwar high-modernist skyscrapers. At the very top stories, the form of the pure glass cube emerges, like Skidmore, Owings and Merrill's flush glass towers, but Pelli caps these with purely ornamental copper crowns in the form of a pyramid, a stepped-back pyramid, a dome and a mastaba.
The setback heights at the third, ninth and twenty-fourth floors were determined by the New York State Urban Development Council (NYSUDC), so that the complex would relate to the predominant building heights of Lower Manhattan.
Pelli's towers were wittily contextual, the mastaba atop the 40-storey tall No.1 is a visual echo of the mansrad roof of Cass Gilbert's West Street Building, across the street. The orthogonal shaft of No. 3 is torqued on its irregular base, like the influential Barclay-Vesy Building by Ralph Walker.

Bulldozers push out hydraulic fill on Nov. 30, 2011, into a new setback levee at Missouri River Levee Unit L-550 even as tractors bring more material.
