Felt project done for Crafster contest. Measures about 6" x 8", not including the hanger.

Today i went out and shot a shoe thing i wanted to do a while back. I decided that the weather was okay nd had a couple of people there to wear the shoes so i went for it.

 

The idea needs refining but i like what i've got so far!

the last week has been mostly spent hand-stitching square black strip sequins to 2 jackets ...

 

I wasn't alone - there are well over 300 woman hours of labour in this be-sequining ... I did about 70.

 

I am particularly proud of this top pocket - got the edge quite neat ...

 

BTW: applying sequins to a finished garment is not the best way to make an all-over sequined garment. The best way is to start with be-sequined fabric, and make the garment from that.

I was inspired to make a felt and embroidered ornament like the traditional vintage glass ornaments pictured here (this one is from my childhood, I love it.) Once I began I quickly realized it needed some sequins. And once I started putting on sequins I wanted more, more, more! (When sewing/crafting with sequins if you find yourself saying "Should I put more sequins on?" the answer is always "YES") Anyway, I love how this came out. It's a gift for someone but was such a pleasure to make that I think I'll be making a few more this season in various palettes.
