I had a bag of sequins in my purse that I forgot about.... the bag got a hole and they exploded all over my purse! You should see the bottom of my purse. I've been leaving sparkles everywhere I go.
So I figured what better to do for Bokeh Wednesday!

Film: Tri-X (400TX) pulled EI 320 / development: Rodinal 1+25 / print: cropped on Ilford Multigrade IV Fiber split filter in Dektol 1+2 with Kodak Sepia Toner / Epson V750 scanned.
This Christmas bauble was hand beaded with sequins and pins by me. I have a Christmas tradition. I bead Christmas baubles for a select group of friends every year.
Each bauble is 15 centimetres in diameter and contain hundreds of sequins, varying in number depending upon the complexity of the pattern and the type of sequins I use. Most sequins in this bauble are 5mm in diameter, except the gold outer flowers which are 6mm, the inner flowers, which are 4mm and the tiny gold sequins which are 3mm and very fiddly. Depending upon the colour of the sequin, I will use either a gold or a silver pin to attach it to the bauble. I always leave the flowers and stars until last, allowing a gap in the sequin chain to pin them in.
These baubles are smaller than some others I do, however because it is a complex pattern which starts from the inside and is worked outwards in ever larger circles, each bauble takes approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours per side.
It is however, a labour of love which I do to pass the time throughout the year.

it was abandoned in our parking lot at work
next to a silver sequin purse
one ugg
a broken plate with spaghetti written on it
a used baseball glove
and a torn up bookshelf thing
i knew the minute i saw it that photos would have to be taken
we sat in it.
took photos.
threw it in the vanagon.
took it to the beach.
took more photos.
people came up to us smiling
laughing
asking what the hell we were doing
the lifeguard commented on the juxtaposition
they wanted to have their photo taken in it
we did that
exchanged emails so we could share
then dragged the chair back to the van
back to where it was dumped
brushed the sand off our feet.
returned to work
thankful for the adventure
glad to have given the chair one last experience
one last venture
possibly the best it had ever had

Some nights don’t ask to be remembered loudly... they are just felt, like soft champagne bubbles fading on the tongue.
The dress set the mood and ladies, it will blow your mind. I have a quart jar full of round sequins of several sizes and lots of colors. Most of these (I would say at least 80%) are left over from the multitude of projects and ornaments I have made over the last 50+ years.
Dominic had a friend who was celebrating a birthday on Saturday. On the way to drop him off for the party, I had to stop at GameStop and the Hallmark store to get a gift card and birthday card. While at the Hallmark store, I spied these ruby red sequin slippers, a la The Wizard of Oz. I had to have them. I'm not normally an impulse buyer, but these were the cutest things I've ever seen. I love bling (if you hadn't noticed, ha!) and I love comfort... combine bright red sequins with the softest fleece ever and well... Holly now looks like Dorothy every night in her jammies. :) Perfect for the Macro Mondays circle theme and cute to boot. Though I got two photos I loved, this one with the bow on top and bit of flare won for the submission.
