Sequins are disk-shaped beads used for decorative purposes. In earlier centuries, they were made from shiny metals. Today, sequins are most often made from plastic. They are available in a wide variety of colors and geometrical shapes. Sequins are commonly used on clothing, jewelry, bags, shoes and many other accessories.
Having removed clear iridised sequins from an old scarf they were (temporarily!) placed in a cup for safekeeping and forgot about until rediscovered this week. For Macro Mondays From the Top. (thank you Kez West)

Dominic had a friend who was celebrating a birthday on Saturday. On the way to drop him off for the party, I had to stop at GameStop and the Hallmark store to get a gift card and birthday card. While at the Hallmark store, I spied these ruby red sequin slippers, a la The Wizard of Oz. I had to have them. I'm not normally an impulse buyer, but these were the cutest things I've ever seen. I love bling (if you hadn't noticed, ha!) and I love comfort... combine bright red sequins with the softest fleece ever and well... Holly now looks like Dorothy every night in her jammies. :) Perfect for the Macro Mondays circle theme and cute to boot. Though I got two photos I loved, this one with the bow on top and bit of flare won for the submission.
I have a quart jar full of round sequins of several sizes and lots of colors. Most of these (I would say at least 80%) are left over from the multitude of projects and ornaments I have made over the last 50+ years.

I'm not really sure if this is glittery enough for this weeks theme, but I wanted to get lots of colour and I loved the bokeh. This is a close up of my daughters sequin art project, two tropical fish.
the macromonday theme for this coming monday is multicolored-- how about these sequins close-up?? the colors show up depending upon how the sequins are oriented to catch the light.
These type of dresses do seem to shed sequins everywhere... I'll be finding them around the house for months. Probably just as well my missus knows about my girl side or I could have some explaining to do!
