I bought this rose at a florist recently, limiting myself to only one. The background is swatch of gold sequined fabric. This is a 70-frame focus stack.
This is the yarn I spun from Loops March batt of the month club. I added a few snippets of novelty yarn from my scrapbooking stash.. and Steph sent a little bag of sequins to spin into the yarn! Yay more sparkles!!
I LOVE how it turned out!! The colors are just amazing.. it sparkles like crazy and the shredded money is just cool looking!!
I think I'm going to crochet this into a large pashmina sized shawl with a medium brown corrie as trim and fringe.. and this as the middle and fringe. I think it'll look super sweet!!
Steph is so amazing.. I can't wait to see what April brings.

Possibly this is a really close up shot of sequins
*and* this is what happens when you pin sliders just to see what happens … grin
Hmmm, I could crop it a little
Taken using my old 50mm SLR Pentax lens on a Micro 4/3 camera with an adapter.
I estimated the focal distance (correctly for once!) and then waited whilst a taxi behind the subject drove off. Having the focus already set enabled me to take the shot immediately upon raising the camera up. Hope you like the result!
I thought it was about time I got back to my signature colour palettes . . . and what better way to start than with these beautiful coffee cups on display at my local cafe, and fabulous sparkly curtains in the window of a local hair salon. I thought both made for the perfect pairing!

I had a bag of sequins in my purse that I forgot about.... the bag got a hole and they exploded all over my purse! You should see the bottom of my purse. I've been leaving sparkles everywhere I go.
So I figured what better to do for Bokeh Wednesday!

Everything you see is paint. I know it looks like beads but its all paint. I used alot of textured gesso and different types of paint in different thicknesses to create the look of sequins, beads feathers and rinestones. If the light is shinning on it just right it really is a beautiful painting that just glows. This was from a photo I took when we went to Rio for Carnival This took 1 month for me to paint... it was fun!

This Christmas bauble was hand beaded with sequins and pins by me. I have a Christmas tradition. I bead Christmas baubles for a select group of friends every year.
Each bauble is 15 centimetres in diameter and contain hundreds of sequins, varying in number depending upon the complexity of the pattern and the type of sequins I use. Most sequins in this bauble are 5mm in diameter, except the stars which are 4mm in diameter. Depending upon the colour of the sequin, I will use either a gold or a silver pin to attach it to the bauble. I always leave the flowers until last, allowing a gap in the sequin chain to pin them in.
These baubles are smaller than some others I do, and because it is a simple pattern which starts from the inside and is worked outwards in ever larger circles, each bauble takes approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours per side.
It is however, a labour of love which I do to pass the time throughout the year.
Sequins are disk-shaped beads used for decorative purposes. In earlier centuries, they were made from shiny metals. Today, sequins are most often made from plastic. They are available in a wide variety of colors and geometrical shapes. Sequins are commonly used on clothing, jewelry, bags, shoes and many other accessories.

Having removed clear iridised sequins from an old scarf they were (temporarily!) placed in a cup for safekeeping and forgot about until rediscovered this week. For Macro Mondays From the Top. (thank you Kez West)

Dominic had a friend who was celebrating a birthday on Saturday. On the way to drop him off for the party, I had to stop at GameStop and the Hallmark store to get a gift card and birthday card. While at the Hallmark store, I spied these ruby red sequin slippers, a la The Wizard of Oz. I had to have them. I'm not normally an impulse buyer, but these were the cutest things I've ever seen. I love bling (if you hadn't noticed, ha!) and I love comfort... combine bright red sequins with the softest fleece ever and well... Holly now looks like Dorothy every night in her jammies. :) Perfect for the Macro Mondays circle theme and cute to boot. Though I got two photos I loved, this one with the bow on top and bit of flare won for the submission.

In this case this is for the husband of a dear friend, who, when I asked him, requested a silver or blue bauble. In this case, he gets both.

I have a quart jar full of round sequins of several sizes and lots of colors. Most of these (I would say at least 80%) are left over from the multitude of projects and ornaments I have made over the last 50+ years.
