All the city benches, garbage cans, and bike racks have been freshly painted with this wonderful aubergine color.
A lovely Sequim Lavender farm. Could've stayed all day. Great blues band there, food, art etc. Heaven.

This is a shot of the sunset near the edge of a 150 foot cliff in the backyard of my dad's friend's house. This is the friend that has the house over the Strait Of Juan De Fuca. I was trying to set up for a decent comp and this is what I came up with. I thought this one turned out pretty cool. This is composed of 2 3xp HDRs vertically stitched.
My dad and I planned a trip to the Olympic Peninsula to visit Hurricane Ridge and the Hoh Rainforest. We stayed with some friends in Sequim, WA and then drove to the Hoh River to hike there. On the way back, we decided we would take a detour to see the coast. We went to Ruby Beach and Klaloch Beach. Then that night we had dinner at another guy's house overlooking the Strait Of Juan De Fuca. It was a great day. The next day we drove up Hurricane Ridge and then went home.

Sequim is proud of the several small several small elk herds that roam its borders. I was surprised when I unexpectedly walked up on this herd in a clear-cut area in my "backyard".
This is the longest natural sand spit in the world. None of us were prepared for the 11 mile round trip hike to the end!
Purple Haze was the second of three farms we visited during the 2006 Lavender Festival in Sequim. It was one of the larger farms on tour, although the grounds were not entirely comprised of lavender fields: there was a peaceful enclosed orchard, a vegetable patch, and a large lawn punctuated by a circular herb bed. Even the lavender fields were adorned by poppies and stray sunflowers.
Purple Haze had the most festival-like atmosphere of the farms we visited, making it a big draw. We did not have a lavender margarita or any of their five varieties of lavender ice cream, but were told they were spectacular. While we were there, the Purple Haze stage was set up with an electronic fiddler playing a mesmerizing version of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." We stayed for a while to listen, surrounded by fellow festival-goers and food booth vendors in beads and batik skirts. I could have spent the day there, but there was more to see...
Got up at 6 or so to take the ferry over to Victoria, Canada, saw this, and ran off to get my camera. I took this from my uncle's house in Sequim Washington. I really liked the balance that the island gave this one. Also, the gold color wasn't adjusted in post, that was how it actually looked.
