This threshing machine was originally built by Nichols & Shepard, the same company that built steam traction engines. Later made by Olver.

Anyone my age who milked cows way back when, will recognize this. You turn the handle, and turn .... and turn .... and turn .... and the cream comes out one spout and the milk out the other. This had to be done every day, seven days a week. Of course, later versions ran on electricity, but we didn't have that, so we turned .... and turned ... and turned ....

KOSUN drilling fluid liquid-gas separator is the special solids control equipment of degassing the gas-invaded mud at the first grade. kosun drilling fluid liquid-gas separator is mainly used to remove big bubbles with diameter above φ3mm and these bubbles refer to the expanded gas in the fluid that fill in some parts of well annulus. Well kick even spilling out to the rotary table will easily occur if they are not removed.

Spent some time with Rob (rob_fuel) in Indianapolis yesterday. We did our best to terrorize the apheresis ward with constant photography. The nurses weren't the least bit phased - they just kept on harvesting. The fruit of their labor can be seen near the middle of the bag.

My new separator showed up today. Great design. The old gray separator just aint what it use to be.

The purpose of this picture was to be a separator on my camera card -- the beginning of a particular cemetery. It did not occur to me that it would serve any other purpose. But when I looked at it a little while ago, I saw the answer to a question I had later today, when I noticed an upturn in the windshield crack -- that it was heading toward the top of the windshield. I couldn't remember whether it had already been doing that. Now I know that it was not doing that early this morning, when I took this picture of Ellison Methodist Church Cemetery in Yazoo County.

(I was not able to stop the crack, btw, because the rock hole turned into a crack within about ten minutes -- long before I was able to make it home to call the windshield-repair person to nip it in the bud.)

Bought some Aliexpress Epman Cable separators instead of the OEM solution. Looks quite nice and work like a treat.

Radiohead - "Separator"

Oh how I love Radiohead. <3

Wanted to represent my Native American heritage in today's image. This is what I came up with.

My grandmother, on my mother's side, was 100% Native American from the Apache Indian tribe. Though she was not cultural, photos of her mother are literally out of a history book they are so "indian". She's in full tribal get-up with the head-band, feathers, braids and all, and though you can't really tell from the picture, I always imagine that she is sitting in a tent with her tribe.

I've mentioned before, but I am very interested in heritage and origin. I have found out through the years that I am quite a "mut", haha. From what I know-- Lebanese, Syrian, Lithuanian, (and then from my mother's side)- Native American, and Irish. What a mixture right!?

Anyways, happy weekend all.

Magnetic separation method is based on the difference of mineral magnetic, bearing different forces in the magnetic field of magnetic separator, resulting in material separation. It is mainly used for sorting ferrous metal ores (iron, manganese, chromium); as well as non-ferrous and rare metals. With good separation efficiency, high processing capacity, and high recovery rate, the application of magnetic separation method in the new iron ore dressing plant is very common.

Magnetic concentration, as one kind of ore concentration methods, play an important part in varies kinds of mining separation plants.

The Working Principle Of Ore Magnetic Separation

Ore magnetic separation is that materials which is going to be elected bearing the force of magnetic and other mechanical (such as gravity, centrifugal force, friction, medium resistance, etc.) together, in the sorting space of the magnetic separator. The magnetic suffered by mineral grains is related with the size and magnetic of the mineral; non-magnetic mineral particles mainly by mechanical force. Consequently, magnetic mineral particles and non-magnetic mineral particles move along different paths to get separation. In general the magnetic force bore by magnetic particles is proportional to the strength and gradient of the magnetic field.

The Field Of Ore Magnetic Separator

There is a magnetic field around the magnetic materials. Magnetic field can be divided into uniform magnetic field and non-uniform magnetic field. The strength and direction of various points in uniform magnetic field are in the same size; and the strength and direction in non-uniform magnetic field are always changing. Mineral particles in a uniform magnetic field only by the role of the torque, its long axis parallel to the direction of magnetic field; in the non-uniform magnetic field, the mineral particles not only by the role of the torque, but also by the magnetic force, resulting in mineral particles both rotation and moving to the direction of magnetic field gradient increasing, and being sucked in the magnet surface in the last. Such mineral particles with different magnetic can be separation. Therefore, the magnetic selection is a method based on the differences of permeability between minerals to achieve separation in the non-uniform magnetic field.

The Process of Ore Magnetic Separator

After the primary crushing, grinding and separating processing, The mining powder mixture are fed to the ore magnetic separators. The magnetite particles overcame all mechanical force (such as the gravity, centrifugalforce, friction force, etc) and adhere to the magnetic separator roller because of the magnetic force. Then the magnetite particles will be transported to the discharge opening and separated as the magnetic products. The non-magnetic substance will be discharged from the frame bottom by the mechanical force. To upgrade the final products quality and make full use of the mining ore, the separated particles will be separated by other magnetic separator again for twice or three times. Finally the purified particles will conveyed to the thickener and the dryer for thickening and drying processing.

This picture shows the filtration section of the EdjeTech T.M.C.R.S. The fluid enters into the hydrocyclone, the separated contaminants flow down into the magnetic separator to remove ferrous particulate, then the fluid flows onto the paper bed filter removing the non-ferrous particulate.

The TMCRS was developed for tube mill facilities to remove contaminants from tube mill coolant at high flow rates to provide clean, clarified coolant back to the mill or coolant pit. The TMCRS reduces coolant rancidity, waste disposal costs, pit cleaning labor costs, and new fluid purchases. Helps provide a cleaner tube and maintain a cleaner mill.

The TMCRS removes tramp oil and suspended solids, extends coolant sump life, automatic fluid makeup option, separated oils can be sold or reused, automatic operation, chemical resistant paint, compact and self contained. Flow rates to meet customer's requirements.

This is the most basic fence you can make, more of a visual separator, than any intention to keep things in or out.

7 Days of Shooting, Fences & Railings theme.

Here is the serenity of the Japanese Garden at the Mount Coot-tha Botanic Garden, bounded partly by the rope fence.

Enjoying life in this idyllic paradise is a large group of Water Dragon which is native to Eastern Australia.

This one is medium sized and agreed to pose for me in front of the fence. They typically maintain a frozen posture with their head raised in the air, for maximum viewing advantage, and will tolerate your close presence until you cross an invisible comfort barrier, after which they run very fast.

From Wikipedia

As its name suggests, the Australian water dragon likes to live near water. It can be found near creeks, rivers, lakes and other water bodies that also have basking sites such as overhanging branches or rocks in open or filtered sun. The species is so common in the rainforest section of Brisbane Botanic Gardens, Mount Coot-tha in Queensland that a monument has been built to them there.

They eat a wide variety of insects (aquatic and terrestrial), molluscs, small fish and turtle hatchlings, native fruit, and they will scavenge around picnic areas and urban parks.

During spring, usually in early October, the female digs a burrow about 4-6 inches (10-15 centimetres) deep and lays between 6 and 18 eggs. This nest is in sandy or soft soil, in an area open to sun. When the mother has laid the eggs, she backfills the chamber with soil and scatters loose debris over it.

When the young are born they stay near the entrance of the burrow for some time before leaving home. When they finally leave the nest, they tend to group together away from the adult population.
