Alpha Herculis (α Herculis, abbreviated Alpha Her, α Her), also designated 64 Herculis, is a multiple star system in the constellation of Hercules. Appearing as a single point of light to the naked eye, it is resolvable into a number of components through a telescope. It has a combined apparent magnitude of 3.08, although the brightest component is variable in brightness. Based on parallax measurements obtained during the Hipparcos mission, it is approximately 360 light-years (110 parsecs) distant from the Sun.
It consists of two binary pairs in mutual orbit designated α¹ Herculis or α Herculis A (the brightest of the two) and α² Herculis or α Herculis B.[12][13] A's two components are themselves designated α Herculis Aa (officially named Rasalgethi from the traditional name of the system) and Ab; B's as α Herculis Ba and Bb.
Alpha Herculis also forms the A and B components of a wider system designated WDS J17146+1423 with two additional visual companions designated WDS J17146+1423C and D.
Alpha Herculis A and B are more than 500 AU apart, with an estimated orbital period of approximately 3600 years. A presents as a relatively massive red bright giant, but radial velocity measurements suggest a companion with a period of the order of a decade.[16] B's two components are a primary yellow giant star and a secondary, yellow-white dwarf star in a 51.578 day orbit.
Alpha Herculis Aa is an asymptotic giant branch (AGB) star, a luminous red giant that has both hydrogen and helium shells around a degenerate carbon-oxygen core. It is the second nearest AGB star to the Sun. The angular diameter of the star has been measured with an interferometer as 34 ± 0.8 mas, or 0.034 arcseconds. At its estimated distance of 110 parsecs this corresponds to a radius of about 280 million kilometers (or 170 million miles), which is roughly 400 R☉ or 1.87 AU. If Rasalgethi were at the center of the Solar System its radius would extend past the orbit of Mars at 1.5 AU but not quite as far as the asteroid belt. The red giant is estimated to have started its life with about 2.175-3.250 M☉.
Like most type M stars near the end of their lives, Rasalgethi is experiencing a high degree of stellar mass loss creating a sparse, gaseous envelope that extends at least 930 AU. It is a semiregular variable with complex changes in brightness with periods ranging from a few weeks to many years. The most noticeable variations occur at timescales of 80–140 days and at 1,000 - 3,000 days. The strongest detectable period is 128 days. The full range in brightness is from magnitude 2.7 to 4.0, but it usually varies over a much smaller range of around 0.6 magnitudes.

There lie many a stories behind the picturesque ruins in Mehrauli. Delhi is well known as a historic city & within Delhi, Mehrauli is a minefield of historical & archaeological data. Our heritage walk in the Mehrauli Archaeological Park covers some stunning monuments which have incredible stories behind them! The above verse was penned by Maulana Jamali, a sufi & poet whose mosque & tomb gives the park its local name, Jamali-Kamali.
Our heritage walk starts at the gateway to Balban’s tomb. Just after the gateway is a clearing created as a result of recent archaeological excavations. The excavations revealed stone flooring and some graves and rooms towards the east. A few months ago this patch of land was a mound covered with thick vegetation, so much so that covering the few yards between the gateway & Balban’s tomb was almost a trek! Right ahead is Sultan Balban’s tomb which is dated to late 13th century. This structure is remarkable for being the earliest building in the subcontinent to use the true arch in construction. The main compartment is now open to the sky & was originally roofed with a dome. Ibn Battuta, the Moroccan traveler who visited Delhi about 40 years after Balban mentions this tomb in his account as a shrine where “all debtors who entered it had their debts discharged, and if a man who had killed another took refuge there ,the Sultan bought him pardon from the friends of the deceased.” There is no evidence of a grave in the main room but the adjacent chamber has one and it is believed to be that of Khan Shaheed, Balban’s son. Khan Shaheed is a title which means ‘the martyr Khan’ given to Balban’s son who died fighting the Mongols. There is just a bit of plaster decoration & blue tile work visible on the walls & probably the whole structure would have been decorated thus.
There are remains of a late 17th century residential settlement around Balban’s tomb. This is significant cluster of ruins, being the only remains of a complete residential settlement in Delhi. A little ahead is the Jamali Kamali mosque. Jamali’s tomb is in a courtyard adjacent to the mosque. It is a square chamber with blue & green tile decoration on the roof. The interior is lovely with its blue & red plaster decoration and tile work on the walls. Verses composed by Maulana Jamali himself are incised on the walls just under the ceiling.
The area just north of Jamali Kamali mosque can perhaps be called the first farmhouse in Mehrauli ! This land was purchased by the British Resident, Thomas Metcalfe who re-landscaped the whole area. He bought a Mughal tomb…converted it into his residence…diverted a stream…built a carriageway over it…created an artificial lake in which stood a boathouse…and not to mention the follies shaped like canopies and ziggurats installed by Metcalfe all around his ‘farmhouse’!!!! He called it the ‘Dilkusha’ or ‘the delight of the heart’. The tomb which was of a Mughal noble, Muhammad Quli Khan, has undergone restoration & the blue painted decoration on its interior has been redone. The roof of the tomb offers a breathtaking view of the entire neighbourhood: the Qutb complex, Mehrauli village with Adam Khan’s tomb standing out in the skyline, a recently restored tomb on a hillock, Mahavir statue at Ahimsa Sthal, the dome of Jamali-Kamali mosque & Thomas Metcalfe’s follies jutting out of surrounding tree cover.
Our next stop was the Rajon ki baoli, an early 16th century step well. The baoli is one of the highlights of this heritage walk & a favourite with every visitor. Perhaps it is to do with manner in which it is revealed to the eye: the entire structure is subterranean, so as one approaches the entrance, one can only see the top-most storey. And each level of the baoli slowly reveals itself to the visitor as one walks towards its steps. The baoli-complex has a 12-pillared tomb & a mosque with some pretty plaster decoration on it.

What is a Nazarite? This was someone in Israel who took a vow at birth to be separated from the world. Samson, who lived in the period of the Judges, was called to be a Nazarite.
Samson’s tragedy wasn’t his fornication with Delilah, though that sin was grievous enough to disqualify him from God’s service. No, Samson’s tragedy was that he no longer valued the work of the Spirit in his life. The presence of the Lord was no longer the most important thing to him. This once-mighty man of God now took the Lord’s power and blessing in his life completely for granted.

Satan’s plan was to rob Samson of that very power and strength through Delilah. Samson had started out strong, living a life separated unto God as he judged Israel. Then, for a period of twenty years, we read nothing of the Spirit moving upon Samson. There were no more exploits, no more mighty victories over Israel’s enemy. Why? He grew weary of the separated life, thinking, “I’ve been too intense, living too strictly. What’s wrong with some relaxation? Why can’t I taste a few pleasures of the world?” So he went down to the Valley of Sorek, which was Philistine territory, where he found the prostitute Delilah and spent the night with her.
Delilah, Her name means to “slack off, ease up, lose intensity.”
The next morning, Samson realized that despite his wanton actions he hadn’t lost his strength nor had the Spirit left him. Evidently, he thought, “I can have forbidden pleasures after all and still keep my anointing.” He began to love the easy life.
Of course, Samson woke up one morning in Delilah’s lap as the Philistines was closing in on him, They found him weak as a kitten. He hadn’t realized that the Spirit of the Lord had departed from him.
Think of the state of the church today, with all its worldly influences, its worldly entertainment, its brightness and frivolity, its focus on success and money. And think of the absence of divine grief over sin, the lack of self-denial and devotion to Christ. It is obvious that the Church today has lost its authority, emptied of its spiritual power a long time ago.
Thousands of Christians today sit in dead churches never realizing God’s Spirit has departed,The spirit of Delilah has succeeded in putting many in the church to sleep in her lap.
Revelation 12 chapter , There's a war going on, The bible says the devil declared war. The bible makes it very clear , He is going to send out a flood , That they may be carried away the scriptures say. He's going to send this flood of filth,lust and temptation .He's gonna come against the physical body against the mind , He's going to come against everything to carry them away the bible says that they may be carried away with the flood.
God told the prophet Haggai he promised to fill his last-days church with his glory. “Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts” (Haggai 2:6-7).
Simply put, Christ is the desire of all nations, and he is coming again. But first there will be a great shaking. Everything that can be shaken, Jesus says, will be shaken. This means there will be a great separation, and whatever cannot be shaken will remain.
I believe this spiritual shaking and separation is going to be in a way like it was for Samson. Not realizing that the Spirit of the Lord has departed.
So, what will that remaining part be?
It will be a people running back to the arms of Christ—a church intensely on fire, on its knees, contrite, wide awake and looking for his coming. It will be a church that has turned away from all flirtation with sin, and is separated unto the Lord, with clean hands and a pure heart. In such a church, the Holy Spirit is free to move and work in mighty ways. Nothing hinders his anointing and flow, and the glory of God becomes clear for all to see.

I was more than honored when Jacob Covey invited me to take part in the upcoming Beasts! Book 2 print show and book release party in Seattle, WA. Since Jacob requested all entrants must submit only handmade art (nothing digital), I opted for a linocut variation of my original troll (same beast, different doodle). There were only two things standing in my way: I had barely any experience with woodcut/linocut printmaking and my supplies from Dick Blick didn't arrive until a few hours before the deadline.
Well, at least I had my separations all lined up in a row and ready to go...

This is the front door of the Covington Community Church, my polling station.
I am not a Christian. The only reason for me to set foot in a church is if I'm forced to attend a wedding, a funeral, or if I want to exercise my right to vote.
This has always seemed very weird to me. Why do we vote in churches? I doubt if there are polling stations in synagogues, mosques, or Buddhist temples -- not that we should be voting in any of them, either.
You see yourself in the world, while I see the world in myself. To you, you get born and die, while to me, the world appears and disappears. Our world is real, but your view of it is not. There is no wall between us, except the one built by you. There is nothing wrong with the senses, it is your imagination that that misleads you. It covers up the world as it is, which what you imagine it to be - something existing independently of you and yet closely following your inherited, or acquired pattern.
