人は、間に６人の知り合いを介せば世界中の人びとと友達になれるらしい。
白砂の丘が微かに輝く魔法の午後に、ふるさと遠く、見知らぬ土地をさすらう。
やがて淡い忘却のなかから現れてくるであろう、深くに秘められた言葉の一語一語を感じとるように、砂の感触を確かめながら僕らは歩いた。
「旅人がいれば７人で世界を繋ぐことができる」、と夢見るような声で言った。
「ここからすべてが始まるし、ここですべてが終わるんだ。ここがあんたの場所なんだよ。それは変わらない。あんたはここに繋がってい る。ここがみんなに繋がっている。ここがあんたの結び目なんだよ。」
「みんな？」
「失われてしまったもの。まだ失われていないもの。そういうものみんなだよ。それがここを中心にしてみんな繋がっているんだ。」
「踊るんだよ。」羊男は言った。
「きちんとステップを踏んで踊り続けるんだよ。」
「それもとびっきり上手く踊るんだ。みんなが感心するくらいに。音楽の続く限り。」
