This is the fountain at Vigeland Park in Oslo, Norway. I was fascinated by the way the water flowed seamlessly over the side only to suddenly separate into chaos at a fixed circumference.

Spoons are much better at breaking off bite sized pieces of ice cream. They allow greater forces to be applied, and the break is much cleaner.

Hommage. Pierre. Défunt. Accompagner.

Envoi. Méditation. Prière. - BOUCLAGE -

This is a wall. Anywhere in the world, it would be called a wall. But in many Israeli reports, it's referred to as a "fence" - as though it were like a garden fence between two neighbors. Such are the wonders of hasbara.

and I want you to show me!!!

We had an 80's playlist going the whole time, and I picture this frog singing this song in his head at this moment.

“I either eat too much or starve myself. Sleep for 14 hours or have insomniac nights. Fall in love very hard or hate passionately. I don’t know what grey is. I never did.”

The forced separation of two organisms that are meant to be together, creating entropy in an ecosystem!!!1!!11!!!

Mother has gone south for the winter. Miss her innate elegance and wisdom.

The West Bank Barrier snakes through the landcape (Betlehem, West Bank)

From the moment of her initial captivity in her village to her arrival at Auschwitz, mother’s family, which included a very strong willed grandmother, was permitted to stay together. However, upon the arrival at Auschwitz, as happened to all families, they were separated. As seen here, males older then 13 were required to stand in one line, while women and younger children were ordered to another line. The reason for the guards allowing younger children to stay with their mothers is because the guards understood that separating a mother from her crying child potentially created difficulties which had to be avoided. You do not anger a mother by taking her crying child away from her!

It was at this point that my mother saw her bother, Morris, for the last time! Her oldest sister, Margie, a younger sister. Gitta, and herself were sent to the labor camp. The rest of her immediate family--her mother, grandmother, and youngest sister were sent to the gas chambers.

A brief comment about these pictured guards. According to our guide the guards at Auschwitz, and I presume at all other concentration camps, were specially selected and trained by the Gestapo. Additionally, my Auschwitz guide stated that they were trained to accomplish 3 primary objectives, the Terrible Threes--torment, torture, and terminate!

Now turn your focus to the person on the extreme, lower right corner, whose arm is held to his chest's middle. That was Dr. Josef Mengele, More about him further on in this presentation. However, now it must be noted that he met most of the arriving transports and participated in subsequent selection purpose. His primary reason for meeting every arriving transport was to find twins, who were used in many of his medical experiments, but non-twins were used as well.

The prisoners were required to stand for a long time here on the platform while each individual prisoner was quickly looked over and was ordered to go the left, which meant being sent directly to the gas chambers and certain death, or ordered to go the right, which meant that person went to the work camp. Usually young adults and the able-bodied were sent to the labor areas of Auschwitz.

This selection practice is just one illustration as how trivial the guards viewed the lives of the prisoners, for their fate was determined in a matter of seconds. Seventy percent of all arrivals died within 24 hours upon reaching Auschwitz. At its operational height 10,000 people a day were being murdered.
