Here's the same vine after a disturbance such as that caused by a plant-feeding animal. It may fool the animal into thinking it's dead, or it may just expose its sharp thorns. This plant doesn't move as fast as the better-known M. pudica, which is tropical.

Cluster of Sensitive Plants found on the way back from the last temple visited to the visitor's center

On vacation in Oahu 2002. I've since forgotten the name of the beach. I had to check out the grass because it felt so funny under my feet. I noticed the tiny sensitive plants. Here it is open.

Tooth sensitivity is something that millions of Americans are dealing with everyday. It is really easy for people to be diagnosed with tooth sensitivity. If your teeth are affected by biting into ice cream or drinking a piping hot cup of coffee, then you know your teeth are sensitive. So, what does that mean? Well, it means the enamel on your teeth is weakened. While there are no real ways to strengthen your enamel, there certainly are ways to make sure it does not worsen.

The first way to make sure you keep your teeth nice and strong is the most obvious: brushing your teeth. Brushing your teeth often really can get rid of the sugars on your mouth that can cause your enamel to break down. Fluoride in toothpaste can strengthen your teeth. Just be sure to maintain a normal routine of brushing and rinsing and your teeth health will improve greatly. Even try adding a third brushing in the middle of the day. This can get rid of midday snacks and lunch.

A lot of Americans are getting into the teeth whitening fad. Bleaching your teeth never sounds like a good idea because it is not. Teeth whitening was only ever really done professionally in a doctor’s office. But some people are choosing to go the cheaper route and purchase a home whitening kit. While you might see quick “whiter” results, it's actually a detriment to your teeth. Sure, it might look whiter faster because it is literally just stripping enamel right off your teeth. Enjoy your pretty smile, but understand your teeth might start decaying quicker..

I actually have no idea why most people do not think about going to see their dentist

when they have sensitive teeth. The whole point of having a dentist is to have an expert on your dental health and make sure everything is staying on track. You should not self diagnosis when there are professionals for diagnosing. Some people think they are going to save a quick buck by avoiding the dentist and trying to solve it on their own. They go to the store and buy products that are not even approved by dentists and expect it is going to work because their uncle told them it would work. False. Only certified dentists should be trusted with your dental health

. They can prescribe actual toothpaste for sensitive teeth instead of you buying it off the shelves at the supermarket.

Mimosa pudica from the Latin pudica meaning "shy, bashful or shrinking".

Also called "touch-me-not"

When touched it actually moves and closes its leaves leaves. I wish I had tried this when I saw it.
