A little bit of home for Christmas.
My brother couldn't be home for Christmas this year, so I did a shoot with his wife, and their 2 paw babies. Sending a little bit of home to him :)
This is where we went onto the playing field during the Fenway Park Tour in Boston. I was surprised to see everyone just charge out onto the field without looking around and absorb everything around them like I did. It worked out as a better shot for me though, I think!
This is a 3 shot HDR image, done with Photomatix and then run through Photoshop.

Since I had to send back the Minolta 80-200 2.8 HS, I took the Minolta Beer Can out for a walk today. I’m always pleasantly surprised at the captures I’m able to get with the Beer Can. It’s not that it’s a great lens it’s just really good for the price. The Beer Can has been discontinued for well over 10 years and a good copy can be bought for around $150. It’s has a constant aperture of f4and made of all metal and glass and makes noises like a mouse cage when it’s searching for something to focus on. The biggest problems with the lens is the chromatic aberration (purple edges on the highlights) and lens flair. You can’t notice the CA in black and white so it’s perfect for street photogs and the lens flair can be controlled with a good hood and being aware of where the sun is at all times which a good photog should know anyhow.
