Earlier in the afternoon I got into an argument with people who insisted it would have been smarter to go down there the day before when there wasn't a cloud in the sky. I tried explaining why clouds can be good, to no avail. I bet they are the sort to look at a good photo and say "I have a camera phone so I could take that".

A closer look at the mechanical guardian just south of the station, shown in the "stop" position, controlled by Heřmaničky Stavědlo 1. As stated elsewhere, the few semaphores scattered between Olbramovice and Sudoměřice were some of the last mainline examples in the Czech Republic.

These are the three semaphores at the west siding switch at Levy, New Mexico. The Raton Line is BNSF, historic AT&SF track and presently used by the Southwest Chief, Amtrak Trains 3 and 4. This sequence shows signals responding to the approach of westbound number 3, the train passing through the signals and then the signals clearing. The semaphore protecting the west end of the siding is always in stop position.
Number 3 continues to advance toward the west switch.

The eastbound blade is dropping to the stop position as number 3 passes the east end of the siding.
