My Mom is my best friend. She is kind, funny, charismatic and generous beyond belief, putting her children and others before herself. She is selfless and is always lending a helping hand, even if it means putting her own plans on hold - even if my sister and I say, "You should take some time for yourself, because you really deserve it."
My Mom is one of the strongest and most resilient people I know. She has been through so much emotionally over the last few years, especially in the last six with the deaths of various family members on her side of the family. It began five years ago with a string of deaths, all within mere months of each other. It seemed that we would just be getting over one burial and moving on to the next. After a while, things seemed to go back to normal, up until almost a year ago when history seemed to repeat itself. This will be the first Mother's Day that my Mom will not get to spend with her Mom, my Grandma.
No matter what has come her way, and no matter how challenging and emotionally taxing, my Mom has always found a way to prevail and come out on the other side stronger than ever.
With the help of our Dad, my Mom has raised my younger sister (right) and I to be our best, encouraging us to reach for our dreams and go far beyond people's expectations. They have both taught us the value of being hard workers and good people. My Mom is the kind of Mom and woman I aspire to be one day; she is my hero and I love her more than words can say.
It would mean a lot for her to win one of these prizes for Mother's Day because she absolutely rocks :)

This organisation of selfless and fearless volunteers was mooted to help during disasters and large scale humanitarian projects.

Healing Hands Foundation conducted free health checkup drive at Dr. Ambedkar Vasahat, Aundh Gaon, Pune. The camp was organised in collaboration with Anand Kamble Charitable Trust Aundh.
Upa-Mahapaur Sunitatai Wadekar started the drive by felicitating the HHF team.
On behalf of Healing Hands Foundation, PUNE, Smita Zade examined the patients and gave guidance about a healthy diet. Ashana Tamboli counseled them and helped them with free medicines. Anand Misal and Santosh Kamble helped with the setup. Camp organiser Anita Said organised the camp under the guidance of Dr. Ashwin Porwal(Founder-President, HHF), Dr. Snehal Porwal (Founder-Secretary, HHF), and Madhura Bhate(NGO coordinator, HHF).
Total 76 patients benefitted through the drive.
Special thanks to Anand Kamble Charitable Trust and Sunitatai Mitra Parivar for jointly collaborating with us and helping the public through awareness.

SAIPAN, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands - 9th Mission Support Command, U.S. Army Reserve mobilized approximately 300 Soldiers from Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and the Pacific area. It supports relief and recovery efforts following the devastation of Super Typhoon Yutu in order to save lives and mitigate human suffering.
In concert and coordination with various federal, state, local, interagency, and nongovernmental organization partners, U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers are transporting Federal Emergency Management Agency and American Red Cross relief supplies and equipment to support their fellow citizens, assisting with debris clearance, and distributing commodities.
Additionally, the U.S. Army Reserve is providing its Saipan facilities as a staging area for relief operations.
Service members from Joint Region Marianas and Indo-Pacific Command are providing Department of Defense support to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands' civil and local officials as part of the FEMA-supported Typhoon Yutu relief efforts.

Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington Commanding General Maj. Gen. Bradley A. Becker and Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Commander Col. Yesterday I visited a village school founded by FIVDB and DFID UK. After founding the school the founder stop funding. But the school didn't stop educating children. Teachers of this school still teaching soulfully without getting paid. They are so selfless. The head teacher of the school said and I translate " Our aim is to build a nation without illiteracy no matter what obstacles we have ahead."
