Revered Swami Sarvalokanandaji Maharaj, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi delivered an inspiring talk on "Bharatiya Bhava on Seva: Understanding the Roots of Selfless Service" at a seminar organised by 'Students for Service' in association with C20 (a partner of the G20 movement) at the Conference Hall, Delhi University (North Campus), June 9, 2023.

Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington Commanding General Maj. Gen. Bradley A. Becker and Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Commander Col. Mike Henderson presented certificates and other awards April 12 to volunteers during the joint base’s annual Volunteer Recognition Ceremony in Fort Myer’s Spates Community Club. Day 57 - 6/14/09 - Mami always has my back.
Selfless, sacrificial, giving and humble... qualities that make for an excellent mother-father. My dad died when I was just two, leaving my mom with 3 kids, my sister who was 5 and my brother was 6 months. I was born in the Bronx, but shortly after my dad passed away we moved back to the DR where I lived up until I was 9.
My mom never remarried, never forced another dad on us and worked hard to put food on the table. When we moved back to the US in 91, she tried going back to college and was close to completing her associates when our financial situation got tougher. So tough, some days she couldn't go to class because she didn't have train fare. The opportunity to work a maintenance job with a union came up, and ever since then my mom has been busting her behind. She's worked hard to get us out of the projects, buy her own home and support us.
My mom is truly the most selfless person I know. I know everyone thinks their mom is the best, but I don't think mine is, I know it!
