Kansas State men's basketball coach Bruce Weber resigned Thursday, the university announced.

"Coach Weber has provided selfless leadership to our basketball program and university for the last decade," athletic director Gene Taylor said in a news release. "With two conference championships and an Elite Eight run in 2018, our program reached exceptional levels of success under his direction. His development of young men on and off the court, while representing K-State in a first-class manner with the highest level of integrity is unmatched in today's game and something all K-Staters should take great pride in."

Weber's resignation comes a day after No. 9 seed West Virginia defeated No. 8 seed Kansas State 73-67 in the first round of the Big 12 tournament.

His departure from the program was expected after a string of disappointing seasons, though after the game Wednesday, Weber made it clear he'd like to stay.

"It's a crazy business," Weber, 65, said. "I have loved it. I hope I get to continue. We'll see what happens."

The Wildcats finished the season with a 14-17 record, 6-12 in the Big 12.

The school said it would honor the remainder of the contract. In 2018, Weber signed a contract extension through the 2022-23 season that was due to pay him $2.9 million in the final season.

Weber took over the Kansas State program before the 2012 season after successful stops as the head coach at Southern Illinois (1998-2003) and Illinois (2003-12).

This mom right here is amazing and so selfless. She decided that she needed to shave her head to help Cici cope with the process of losing her hair. Cici was so distraught with the concept of her losing her hair and being bald. It was so bad that every time she saw a person with a bald head, she would break down in tears. Her mom sucked it up and shaved her head to show her that having no hair wasn't all that bad. I love their matching hair cuts.

Nobody sees me.

but they will see me when I will be trash.

Nobody sees me.

just you only human...

Nobody listens to me 'till I die.

just you only human...

I'm thankful for my amazing wife who is also an amazing mom! Everyday she cares and helps provide for her family in new ways. She works hard, and is making a difference in the lives of those around her. She is incredibly selfless and giving of her time and energy. Thank you for all you do and for the amazing mother you are! Love you. 👪❤️👏

Family Life, places and memories of childhood are golden nuggets that nestle deep in a person's mind in his lifetime; a lasting selfless dedication to fulfill his aspirations for the family and grandchildren in the coming years.

RFS Service Standard 7.1.9 (covid vax mandate) destroyed volunteering in the RFS for me and many other long-time RFS volunteers with many years of selfless community service. Neither the RFSA or the VFFA stood up and fought back against that utterly draconian directive that divided volunteers into the pro-RFS sheep/wonks who blindly lined up to get multiple jabs of experimental drugs and those who stood by their own ethics and integrity and refused to get Covid vax and/or to tell the RFS they had got Covid vax.

My brigade was totally pro-Covid-vax except me and I think 1 or 2 others. From the start of Lockdown 2.0 in July 2021 until I choose to withdraw entirely in 2023 after 21 years of active volunteering (2000 to 2021) I had absolutely zero involvement with my brigade because not only was there the official RFS mandate, but my brigade implemented *it's own* Covid vax mandate that banned un-vaxed volunteers from ALL participation in brigade activities (callouts, HR's, com-ed, training and social functions).

During the flood emergencies of 2020/21/22 the RFS totally banned un-Covid-vaxed volunteers from participating in 'strike teams' and other sorts of emergency response strategies to assist other agencies (SES, VRA, Army, Police, etc.)

What made it even worse was the brigade captain at the time (until the 2023 AGM) totally ignored my concerns and treated my extensive years of being a volunteer in the RFS like it meant nothing. This combined with the NSW government treating RFS volunteers like unpaid employees instead of actual volunteers sealed the deal.

At one time the RFS claimed to have '70000 volunteers'. I reckon the true number post Covid vax mandate would be 1/4 of that, or less, following how the Covid vax mandate drove so many people out of the service for good.

Anatta teachings or Selfless Mottos of Sayadaw U Ottamasara

Altruism or selflessness is the principle or practice of concern for the welfare of others. Part of the 26 by 26 challenge. Trying to save others applies I think?

In the Spirit Of "Bai Qiu En" (Dr. Norman Bethune) at an event celebrating the balance between Society, Environment and Economy, and identifying people who are "Part Of the Solution" (POS) - - - discovering "the spirit of absolute selflessness in people - where, in this spirit, everyone can be very useful to each other, Individual Social Responsibility (ISR), and recognizing that whether a man or woman's ability is great or small, if they have this "Bethune" spirit, they are already noble-minded and pure - - demonstrating moral integrity and above vulgar interests, each one a person who is of great value to the World Sustainability Project. www.WorldSustainability.Org

Everyman in his second childhood forgets all material things. His wife, children and grandchildren are mere friends and playmates. He remembers only the years as a child below 7 yrs of age and going home to the place where he was born.

You think it’s easy managing more than 35,000 acres of land and nearly 645,000 acres of water? Of course not. Here, volunteers clean out trails and clear invasive species at Eau Galle Recreation Area, Spring Valley, Wis. Volunteers are essential to the St. Paul District’s mission. They play an invaluable role in selflessly giving their time to help the district meet our environmental stewardship, education, recreation and navigation missions.
