A while ago I had a moment of self reflection and I contemplated the merit of pursuing some of the battles I've fought. Out of that two things happened, one is this image, the other is that some battles either need to be abandoned in order to win the war or that there needs to be a change in tactics. I think I need to have more moments.

Have you ever looked closely at a lake? It reflects everything that looks into it, ever moving, yet retaining its innate character. The colors of the sky at sunset caught my attention. Lost in that reflection, I looked closer and began to see myself; fluid and dynamic, but still very much me.
Through this composition I have tried to depict my journey of discovering my passion for art.
Geneva was bloody awesome, and a great lesson in self reflection and photography. Photography ruts come and go, and I was trapped in one when I visited this beautiful city. One of my biggest life lessons this year was how to get out of that.
Project 3 - Self Reflection
I think that that I did a decent job at the Tryptech, i feel as though I couldn't really think of a great idea for it to make it really unique, but overall I'm satisfied with it and I feel as though I have a better eye and view of photography now, and this definitely adds an interesting perspective. I wish that I thought of something totally outside the box so that I would've been very content seeing as this is the final project for the course, but nonetheless I enjoyed it very much and I definitely understand photography in a new light.
I am reaching a point of self acceptance that I have never in my life felt before. Losing 50 pounds have given me so much more than just a better body, it's given me a chance to finally come out of my shell and be who I want to be which in the end is the best mother to my children. If I can show them that taking care of yourself is a neccesity and not a choice some people make then my life will be just fine.
Many times I have looked at the undereye bags that have formed, getting deeper in hue.
I took one light out and tried to illustrate the moment of looking at yourself after a long day. It's just a moment of feeling refreshed from a shower and having a look at the renewed you.

We do an exercise in our program that involves the young women decorating envelopes and then writing notes of appreciation for everyone in the group. Given a manila envelope and some neato and basic-colored paint pens, this is what I came up with in about 15 minutes.
I wanted to illustrate it to meditate on those things I wish to bring to my life more intentionally.
The Bernina Express - from Chur in Switzerland, through the Swiss Alps, to Tirano in Italy - is an absolute joy!
