Today I spent a bit of the day working on putting together a Do-it-yourself beauty dish (specific dish designed to reflect flash for photography). I got the instructions from here (http://davidtejada.blogspot.com/2008/04/beauty-dish-for-sb-800.html). Anyways, todays picture comes from the cd + convex mirror portion, and I decided to go for a self portrait with it.
Exposure: 1/160 sec @ f/1.8
Focal Length: 35mm
ISO: 400
Lens : Nikon AF-S 35mm DX 1.8

I was struck by an image from the classic Bengali movie "Nayak" where the protagonist reclines upon his train bunk, reflecting upon his life, before falling headlong into a revealing dream. I tried to replicate the lighting and post in a self-portrait.
Riding the rails around Switzerland is an absolute joy. Even so, the Bernina Express - from Chur in Switzerland, through the Swiss Alps, to Tirano in Italy - is a notch above!

DAY 027/365: "Self-reflection"
“To shelf perfection, just ‘cause someone else inspectin’,
Differs from what swells rejection, to reflect their self on your self-reflection?”
What do you see when you look at yourself in the mirror? Does your self-reflection trigger a stream of negativity or does it ignite a river of positivity? Or perhaps a mix of both? Whatever your case may be, just remember… Your self-thoughts should not be influenced by the thoughts of others. Someone else has no right or authority to calculate your worth & value unless you freely give them permission. You know what Eleanor Roosevelt use to say back in the day… Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent.
