Project 3 - Self Reflection

I think that that I did a decent job at the Tryptech, i feel as though I couldn't really think of a great idea for it to make it really unique, but overall I'm satisfied with it and I feel as though I have a better eye and view of photography now, and this definitely adds an interesting perspective. I wish that I thought of something totally outside the box so that I would've been very content seeing as this is the final project for the course, but nonetheless I enjoyed it very much and I definitely understand photography in a new light.

Auf der Suche nach sich selbst.

Many times I have looked at the undereye bags that have formed, getting deeper in hue.

I took one light out and tried to illustrate the moment of looking at yourself after a long day. It's just a moment of feeling refreshed from a shower and having a look at the renewed you.

See my Seaside, FL Spring Break set here.

not really. there was a butterfly on the other side of my bedroom window. i was trying to take a photo of it without scaring it away. i leaned it very close. had the camera set on motion. and accidentally took a photo of myself in the mirror before turning and correctly aiming the camera at the butterfly.

every once in awhile i get this huge fat ass zit on my chin. it really bugs. it is always in that same area too. every single month it pops up like once. it's so annoying. i need some zit home remedies.

also, my love life is taking a slow, but interesting turn. everything is laughable to me. i don't know if i even want to be pursued right now. nothing is really happening actually. i'm just speculating that things can turn interesting if i allow it to i suppose. augh. i'm such a laughable person. i don't know if it is even a good idea for me to be speculating. all i do is embarrass and create extremely humiliating situations for me to fall into. i need to take control. seriously.

I work as a musician and teacher in Portland, OR. I’ve worked as a MusicRx Specialist in Children’s Hospitals using therapeutic music with patients living with chronic conditions, terminal illnesses, and mental health issues. During my career, I've implemented several music workshops at non-profits, inspiring youth to hone their creative voices. I intend to develop a free workshop in alliance with My Voice Music, for teenagers living with chronic and terminal illnesses that face depression, isolation, and low self-esteem. I have found that music is a positive therapeutic tool that teaches youth how to release emotions in a healthy, productive way. Having access to a program that involves mentoring, self-reflection, songwriting, and a supportive community helps build confidence and coping mechanisms for teens with chronic illness.

We do an exercise in our program that involves the young women decorating envelopes and then writing notes of appreciation for everyone in the group. Given a manila envelope and some neato and basic-colored paint pens, this is what I came up with in about 15 minutes.

I wanted to illustrate it to meditate on those things I wish to bring to my life more intentionally.

The Bernina Express - from Chur in Switzerland, through the Swiss Alps, to Tirano in Italy - is an absolute joy!

On Tuesday March 1, 2016, Syracuse Academy of Science Middle School held their winter concert. Our students came together under the direction of Miss Farruggio to share an evening of music with a powerful message. New and returning band members played together to show off their hard work, dedication, and musical skills. Each grade level shared a musical selection with the audience, each with a message of friendship, self-reflection, responsibility, and respect. Our concert theme this winter was "Make a Change" and together, the whole student body came together to sing Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror". Our winter concert was a great success, and our audience members truly enjoyed the evening.

This is not a selfie. It is a moment of self-reflection. That’s what it is, I promise!

And it happened a sunny day in July, in 2019.

Reflections can be quite revealing, and the experience of those who engage with them may be sublime. I always encourage people to reflect and to share their reflections, so that I may marvel in my affirmation of humanity’s nobler qualities.

Do others see you as you see yourself? Do you see yourself as others do?

The idea of being lonely, however looking at yourself as a refection of who you have become.

OK...time to try this "Funk it up Friday" thing.

I saw this semi-reflective window on the lobby of the Holiday Inn Express in Santa Barbara, and could not resist shooting myself. I liked the fact that you could also see into the lobby as well as the street behind.

Do you see the photographer? :)

trying to kick the habit....again

As any traveler these days with camera at hand and my laptop to work during the trip.

Sparkle always shows signs of self love. She would stop by at any mirror, admiring herself. Sparkle always uses her nose to sense the mirror, then she would start getting close to the mirror and kissing the mirror, her self reflection.
