This is the seedpod of the Salsify plant, a vegetable of which the root is eaten.

i took this photo on the road above whale rock reservoir, after pam explained how to get down low to take pictures, instead of from above. thanks, pam! you were right.

Belamcanda is known as Blackberry Lily because of its seeds. Most commonly called Candy Lily.

Something fluffy caught my eye...

We use to throw these in the air at my Grandmother's.

What the best-dressed, wind-dispersed seeds are wearing this Spring.

I'm not really sure what this is, but my guess would be some type of seedpod. I've only seen one of these and I don't remember what kind of plant it was on. It was pretty spectacular, though.

No photo year is complete without taking at least a couple photos of milkweed seeds and seed pods, LOL.

Large amounts of these seedpods appeared after a windy day, accumulating on the edge of the sidewalk.

365/16 June is Green

 

They are so pretty at this stage, but I love them when they dry on the plant in Autumn & can be used as indoor decoration after the seeds have been removed!

It has been a tough week at work with Haiti earthquake and it is nice to float around the backyard and discover hidden treasures through my lens!
