I love the Aussie locals! They took a few of us from the hostel to a secret swimming hole below Barron Falls. Absolutely beautiful place! If you look close, you'll see a few of them on the cliff.
My hats off to Craig for having the confidence to take me to the famous (to some) Secret Spot in Pittsburgh. I will take the location of said spot to the grave and so will my wife - who would not put the blindfold on no matter how many times we asked.
I will just say that the spot is well hidden in plain view. I would NEVER have thought of this spot for photographing the Point. So many people shoot the town from up on Mt. Washington or from the West End overlook - and that forces you to have a little less sky or to be a little wider. This is a perfect spot - in spite of the threats of arrest we received about five minutes after arriving. Craig assured me that was a rare event which is good because we were short on bail money...

As the sun sets on another year I find myself looking back and reflecting on the last 359+ days that have passed. WOW, all i can say is I'm quite literally not the person i was one year ago. so much has happened, so much has changed, both good and bad. I've witnessed more stressful situations this year than my whole life combined, and experienced some of my most precious moments as well. This was the first holiday season my family has faced since my mom's passing, and between all the stories and jokes and presents, there was no mistaking the awkward longing on everyone's face at one point or another. But despite all of the hard times, I still can't wait to see what next year brings, and should i live to spend another day reflecting 12 months from now, i hope and pray that i will make good decisions and have some good memories.
I know i haven't been very "active" lately. i still log in every day and check everyone's stream, but i just haven't had it in me to post or comment anything, sorry about that! So instead of those stereotypical comments about the photo itself, I'd love more than anything to hear what you guys have to share about 2009. what was your favorite or most cherished memory, or your highest/lowest? I don't believe in new years resolutions, if you want to make a change, then make it, but that said, what would you like to change next year, or carry along into the future?
