#2 of 48 self-portraits. CC very welcome. Very glad to be here and not back in Martin Place where I was all last week. It's very chilling and makes you feel quite vulnerable!
Sometimes you just have to trust your gut (and the map). There are no paths to this little beauty but a trek through a quiet woodland valley in deepest darkest Cornwall was worth the effort.
In La Fortuna, this amazing waterfall is Just 500 steps or so away. Down. It is well worth the walk - and you can swim in the pool at the base of the falls.
Snappy Gums (Eucalyptus brevifolia) and Spinifex (Triodia pungens) over hillsides.

I’m thinking of hosting a little Flickr Group meet on Satuday, March 19th since right now I have it completely off and will probably be flying to Tampa the following day, so who else would I rather spend it with than my goofy internet friends.
Thinking I’ll host it down at this secret spot. This is from the sunset yesterday. The day before when I shot the sunset down there there was a group of about 20 people with cameras who had just shot the sunset, so it’s obviously not a secret, so I’m going to map it to the exact location so you know where to meet up.
So if you’re interested in coming, let me know. I’ll bring all my filters and perhaps even find a model if you want to do some off-camera lighting. I’m open to new ideas, and new friends.

A lot of people like to make new years resolutions. Historically I’ve been one of them. They typically make them when their life isn’t what they expect it to be, or they’re sad, or single, or fat or in some way just not satisfied with their life. And sure I could stand to drop 20lbs. I’d love to read more. I’d love to fling less pennies at bad drivers on the freeway and not harass as many blogs/websites who steal my photos and complain about it. Donate more to charity. Help others in need. There’s a whole list of things I could do, but probably won’t. I’ve had a gym membership for 4 years and only used it twice. I’ve wasted several hours on the couch watching Storage Wars and Honey Boo Boo. I’ve driven right past the salad bar place near work and ended up at KFC.
What it comes down to is happiness, and everyone has their own formula for it
My wife loves me. Same with my son
My boss thinks I do a good job
My clients have good things to say
Mostly healthy and the house is clean
Don’t change what isn’t broken.
I do resolve however to get my blog up and running this year. I realize I’m a pretty sucky blogger.
I don’t toot my horn too often, but I am kind of proud to have been asked by both Yahoo and NASA to be featured on their websites. A rep from NASA asked me a couple weeks ago about using a photo I took of the Venus Jupiter Conjunction a few years back to feature it on an upcoming webchat about this later this month.
And then Yahoo invited a couple of my wedding photos to be included in their Yahoo Shine website, dedicated to Brides to Be. (photos revolving on the right side).
I’ve never once submitted my photos to be published in a wedding magazine or wedding blog, although I know several others do and once in a while they make it. I’ve always built my business on word of mouth and I’ve been very fortunate to be more than busy with it. I never intended to win awards or attention for what I love to do. Just love to share. I suppose submitting to wedding blogs & magazines isn’t boosting the ego too much.

You can see why surfers call a barrel the green room.
Sitting on a hill looking our at these 6_8 foot barrels and nobody out, it could only happen in Australia.
This wave really pumps when over 12 foot plus and would be perfect for tow-ins seeing the take off is pretty radical.
Oh to be fit and young again, you can only dream.
Used a 400mm lens to get the shot.

I pulled in a couple of nice size Bream out of this little honey hole on Friday. I had no intentions of taking any photos while here, but the clouds were telling me other wise. I do believe that I am going to catch a 1lb + Bream out of this pond this summer ...
