---------------------------------------

Cozy a day with Inge (Pip) to Groningen, we have not been in the Museum just in the hall, those pictures are still :-), but will definitely do that again

The building of the Groninger Museum in Groningen is already a work of art in itself. It houses changing exhibitions and a permanent collection of objects in the field of archeology, (old) visual arts, the history of Groningen and surrounding, crafts, Chinese and Japanese porcelain and current and contemporary art, design, photography and fashion.

Saturday was an absolute whirlwind of activities. There were so many events and parties, that Xavier and I decided we woud try to hit them all.

We had to dress up in formal wear because of the Instyle Winter Ball Masquerade Party. Oh, what fun! Beautiful dresses and gorgeous models roamed the party as we danced to the electronica. I had a blast!

Next up was Jades Jazz Island, an invite from Montana Laurasia. Joaquin Gustav, a Spanish flamenco guitarist was playing. So beautiful! There were 71 people there for that event and lag was a bit difficult for the camera.

ColeMarie sent an invite to the World Wide Industry event on Deep Blue Devil sim. Edgy fashions and art wear were featured there. Favorites were the high top converse that went up to the calves and the incredible fire dress. WOW!

My angel Xavier got an invite from his good friend, DJ Xavier Amat who was having a party at his club GIVEmeSPACE. Pubic chat got confusing as both of them are named Xavier. LOL!

Then a dinner break. I snuck off to hear DJ Emi Halcali spin a 30 minute psy set. Oh how I needed that! A small gathering, an intimate setting at Dementia Radio, I had a very chill time listenining to her. TY Emi!

The Dealer was calling... DJ Jen Noel was over at Sphynx Jazz Club. She spins Spanish influences of jazz, flamenco, salsa and tango. Contemporary tunes are mixed in too for a beautiful, romantic set. I saw well-known psy DJ Healer in holiday clothes chilling to The Dealer's music.

Then a stopover at DeRailed for furry DJ Blabbermouth. Xavier loved this dj! Old school Electro, Goth, Psytrance and Synthpop... Xavi was in heaven. :^)

Later, I snuck off to F.I.V.e Unity Event. I caught DJ 8wall Wrigglesworth spinning there with his special brand of music. Always love 8wall's set! Earlier, Xavier and I saw trance DJ Morex Marx and Goa Master Thomtrance Otoole. That was an awesome event! Clubs Vital, Experience, Amsterdam and others were involved with that event.

At the end of the evening, we both were absolutely exhausted. What a fun Saturday night on the Second Life grid. Woot!

I'm feeling a monochromatic week coming on again. I miss the blacks and whites. The problem is that I need to actually use my camera before I can have anything to post. Hmmm....

This, of course, is a re-do of yesterday's upload. I almost posted this yesterday, but settled on the color instead.

It’s almost that time again,The Arcade Gacha Festival! Second Spaces is offering these cute craft room must-have.

Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. All comments and Faves are very much appreciated

Some winter sunshine on a Castle makes even the environs of Small Heath worth a visit.

The seaweed and grasses were an amazing colour

ISO 400, longer exposure, random sky selection. Milky Way detail. For my second guided wide-field shot, I just about peed my pants over this one.

You'll note the internal camera noise above - the bright blue area in the upper left, and the wide brigher reddish area on the lower right. Screw it - I'm happy with this.

92s on Second Beach, La Push, Washington, USA.

I've posted shots of this sunset before but as it was truly the most magical sunset in the most magical of places, I just can't help still posting the odd one as I try to find a shot that best conveys how awesome and moving it was. I hope you get some of the feeling. And this is the first in the more panoramic format that I tend towards nowadays.I can't imagine I will ever see such a moving sunset again in my life but like the draw of the Western Isles of Scotland I think I will always feel drawn back to this magical place. If you ever get the opportunity to go, go!

This is one of the beaches of La Push made famous by the Twilight series, The walk from this beach takes about 20-30 minutes through pitch black rainforest.... and I mean black, like walking through a mine... scary, especially when you're not used to a countryside with Bears, Cougars, Vampires and Werewolves!

Please no graphics in your comments, unless it's from a group I've posted in, thanks.

“Sometimes the most scenic roads in life are the detours you didn't mean to take.” ~Angela N. Blount

The day I took this was the day that started out all wrong, but wound up being all kinds of right.

A little back story: On our first day we planned to drive from Las Vegas to Page, AZ and hit Horseshoe bend for sunset. The rental car took way longer than expected and we missed it by 20 min. Not a huge deal, but hard to miss it by so little. Then the next day, the storm rolled in. We were driving from Page to Moab, UT that day through Monument Valley, which we were really excited about. To our dismay though, it was completely socked in. We couldn't see anything. At all. So we disappointingly drove right through. After a couple nights in Moab the plan was to drive to Bryce Canyon...that night a winter storm warning was issued with 3 feet of snow predicted overnight (the park actually closed for a couple days). This meant, drive straight into the storm, or turn around and head back the way we came. We opted to turn around and head for Page again.

It was disappointing to think we would miss Bryce (wanting to see it was the catalyst that started this trip) but we were also excited that this meant an extra shot at seeing monument valley. Weather forecasts predicted more clearing in the afternoon so we killed some time by going back to Arches. We were shocked to see the clouds start to lift and the sun peek through. "This is our chance to see Delicate Arch in sunlight!" we proclaimed. The first time seeing it we found ourselves in a big snow storm. So we hurried over and practically ran the 1.5 mile hike up a rock to catch it (at this point we had found ourselves in so many unexpected snow storms that we honestly felt like it was following us...we had to hurry to beat the storm!). Sure enough we made it, and it was incredible!

Feeling pretty elated about our first true turn of luck, we headed to Monument Valley. While I can't say we had blue skies with a few white puffy clouds, I can say we could see stuff! This photo is of the road that leads into it. I suddenly yelled, "I know this place!" and told Nick to pull over...and like the good husband he is, he slammed the brakes on immediately so I could get the shot I wanted. One done frequently, yes, but I wanted my version, from our trip.

After stopping to see "the mittens" we moved on and headed toward Page. It was apparent that we just might make it in time to see sunset at Horseshoe Bend. Up and over mountain passes we went, through snow and rain, but as we got closer to Page we could see a wonderful patch of blue sky directly where we were headed. Time was running out though! Sunset was beginning! When we pulled into the gravel lot to park the sun was hanging low. Grabbing our gear we ran through the sand, hiking down to the breathtaking canyon. The sun had dipped behind the mountains within minutes of us getting there, but somehow I managed to snag a picture I quite liked. We stayed until it was almost dark, enjoying the desert land and watching moonrise. What had started as a forced change of plans turned into what we dubbed "Second Chance Monday."

Life can throw the most unexpected things into our paths. It can be extremely frustrating when we hold too tightly to our own idea of "perfect." Only when we let go of these notions are we free to experience life as it comes and the process itself...full of surprises, disappointments, and second chances.
