I picked up these seashells at one of the beaches in Long Beach, Long Island. I decided to finally put them to use.
Day 5 of 365: June 24, 2011
My friend showed me this wonderful seashell he had gotten from his grandmother. I was totally mesmerized.
For April it is Rabbit. Whole body of the rabbit is cover with zebra nerites tiny seashells, nose is a fragment of Tellina rostrata sea shell, carrot with greens are tiny red and green nerites sea shells.
On some areas around the firth of Thames large banks of shells accumulate where pipi and other shell fish are abundant.

i took this photo at "Ha'Bonim Beach" - the whole beach was covered with these.
Day 2: Voyage to Mormon Key
As the tide went out, the beaches were filled with an amazing array of seashells. I especially enjoyed the large, bleached white whelk shells. The National Park Service allows you to keep one quart of shells.
