"And yet there at our feet (or beneath our boots) are envoys of the deep: the calcium carbonate palaces from some of the most ornate creatures on earth. Most of us will never visit with these animals to learn of their habits and idiosyncrasies far beneath. But fear not: The tides and the waves cast ashore their lovely remains. All we need is to stop and look — and imagine."..........Bryan Pfeiffer

Seashells...
Come walk with me
Along the sea
Where dusk sits on the land,
And search with me
For shells are free,
And treasures hide in the sand.
Seashells line the beach as the sun rises over Hutchinson Island near Jensen Beach, Florida.

Thank you in advance for your views, comments, and faves. They are much appreciated!
I photographed this seashell at a workshop I attended this morning.
Lighting stuff: I placed the shell on a piece of black perspex and lit it with two Yongnuo YN560 III strobes, one in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box at camera left, and the other in a 24 inch soft box at camera right. The strobes, in manual mode, were triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N.
I find sea shells to be beautiful objects from nature, and have photographed quite a few of them over the years. Other shells that I have photographed are in my creatively named Shells album. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157626043932290
The 'Seashell' is apparently a well-known amphitheater in the area. And, on this rainy afternoon, there was just a handful visitors wandering about this place.
Have a peaceful day, everyone...
