Aberavon Beach at Sandfields in Neath Port Talbot is a 3-mile sandy beach and the northern end of the beach is used by sand yachting enthusiasts and kitesurfers. This is also a popular area for fishing.

The beach is ideal for families and (safe) ideal for swimming and kayaking . There is also a skate park, aqua splash playground, children's play areas and grassed areas alongside and is easily accessible for disabled people. The beach is also popular with surfers and kite surfers and each year a very successful and hugely popular beach festival takes centre stage at the seafront.

Aberavon Seafront is a popular choice for a great family day out. The Celtic Trail, part of the National Cycle Route, follows the promenade and gives fantastic views. Port Talbot is the nearest large town although there are several cafes, restaurants and pubs along the promenade.

Here is a view towards Culver Down, a chalk down to the north of Sandown.

There were some beautiful pelargoniums growing along the seafront, but I wonder if anyone is able to name the grey plant? We have grown them in our garden before, but I really can't remember what they are called!

Beautiful sunset colours breaking through the clouds and reflected off the sea.

From memory this will eventually be around 3 metres tall with a flower on top.

I love some details of my city, and the seafront of Bari is definitely one of them, with its sea just a few steps away, its benches, and above all its street lamps. Almost 200 in all, these characteristic black street lamps dating back to the 1920s are nicknamed "the candelabra" and make the seafront of Bari absolutely unique and magical. I hope to be able to work on them as soon as possible with their restoration for the Municipality of Bari.

Opened in 1884 and restored to original condition in 2009, the Bandstand is now part of Brightons revamped West seafront.

The Victorian ironwork of the Structure is complemented by modern groundwork and carefully placed concrete planters.

The bandstand can be hired for £550 from the Council. It can accommodate 50 seated plus 30 standing people.

The large modernist building in the background to the right is Embassy Court. A residential building consisting of 11 Storeys of flats.

Completed in 1935, it is amongst the most outstanding examples of pre-war Modernism in the UK, it has a grade II listed status and itself remains a major Brighton landmark.

It was restored in 2005 after a long period of decline.

a dog walk with John this morning down Southsea Seafront. Lots of little delights but spoiled a bit by rubbish and crap new builds going up and those bloody speeders in the 20mph zones. Can I sue?
