A view looking inland from Morecambe's stone jetty towards the northern end of the seafront. In the distance behind the yellow boat amongst the trees can be seen the Town Hall.

Today Tommy and I took the train from Ore to Brighton. I had a new 23mm F1.4 lens and wanted to try it out. I bought Tommy a nifty fifty so that we could try some wideish angle and low light images. So this is a very different type of photography to what I am used to so a very big variety of landscape blue hour architectural and people images. I kept the lens at f1.4 for most of the time and so some of the usual views but I tried to show some unusual images but how successful I was am I am not sure.

Whitehead is a small coastal town in the shores of Belfast Lough between Larne and Carrickfergus. There is something magical about this row of brightly coloured buildings on the seafront

As night falls, and the Students return

From 9-16 May 2013 I travelled from London to Amsterdam to attend the MuseumNext conference.

As part of my A Penny Per Mile fundraising challenge I decided to cycle there and back, covering 475 miles over two and a half days out (via Dover-Dunkirk) and one and a half days back (via Hook of Holland Harwich).

Looking over to the town's harbour (North Quay), from the bottom end of the seafront

The Plymouth seafront provides wonderful views of Plymouth Sound. There are several cafes, walkways and a very attractive art deco swimming pool. Overlooking the seafront is Plymouth Hoe.

We enjoyed our leisurely stroll along the seafront from Hove to Brighton.

The BBC were in attendance, and it looked like they were making an edition of the science programme "Bang Goes The Theory", which I must confess that I have never watched!

The Plymouth seafront provides wonderful views of Plymouth Sound. The old Eddystone lighthouse has been rebuilt on Plymouth Hoe, and is now known as Smeaton's Tower, after the engineer who designed it. The seafront also features a delightful art deco outdoor swimming pool.

Abandoned seafront villa, Varosha Cyprus

The seafront promenade at Redcar has been undergoing a major renovation during the last few years. Part of that renovation has included the installation of a number of colourful metal art panels that depict British seaside life in general and specific episodes relating to Redcar's heritage. This is a montage of four of these panels, although I think there are around eight altogether at various places along the seafront.

A view of Brighton Seafont in the 1960's with the shop fronts and hotels in the background, also to be seen is a number of old buses around pool valley bus station, a Brighton Hove & District Bristol K can be seen along with a number of Leyland PD3's belonging to Southdown.

The unique architecture of this building is a bold statement in the centre of the Clyde resort town of Largs. This seaside town is still attracting visitors throughout the summer months and the centre and seafront is sometimes bustling.....if the weather is set fair!!
